Trade hypotheticals

Yeah he's decent in defence.

I don't mind if Sinclair leaves. Not sure his value, maybe a pick in the 40s?

I would give up a pick in the 40s in a heartbeat, he has talent and would make sure Hampson doesn't play for us again.

You effectively want to trade pick 6 for pick 2, 10 and 20. Sounds like a fair deal.
No I don't. O'Rourke isn't worth pick two and there's no way in hell Sumner is worth pick ten.

Is Jack Watts worth pick one? Tom Rockliff worth a rookie pick? It doesn't work like that.

How long has O'rourke been in the system? 2 years?

Has been injured and not had a pre season, could live up to the pick still, so essentially he is right, GWS kids aren't gonna come cheap.

So you would trade pick two for O'Rourke? And pick ten for Sumner?

I wouldn't but GWS would ask for it.
Well that's not how it works. No one will pay pick two for O'Rourke, pick ten for Sumner, or pick four for Buntine.

GWS can ask for what they paid all they like. No one will pay that for them.

However, seeing how fair they were in the Tyson trade I doubt they're dumb enough to ask for what they paid. They will get pick upgrades.

They aren't gonna let them go for nothing.

Wouldn't mind trading for Sherriden from the Dockers but not for Mcgovern though seeing as we signed him on for 2 years last week. What about Mcinnes? he is a big KPF playing decent enough footy in the WAFL.

Doubt they would give up a guy playing AFL for a guy playing in the WAFL.

Maybe Sherro/Croz + our first pick (15-18) for Mcinnes + your first pick (7-10)?

5th in line in the 4th best defence in the league. He'd be getting games at most clubs in the AFL. Was he not that good when he held Fevola (1st in Coleman) and Brown (2nd) to 2 goals between them as a 19 year old?
JFC, and Jordie Gysberts was banging when he got 30 touches vs Geelong on debut in 2010.

Pears' body has let him down, hence why he's worth nothing.

The fact that you think he's better in any way than Dylan Grimes is absolutely absurd.

I think O'Rourke was even a bit of a surprise to go so early in that draft - most pundits had him pegged around pick 4-6 I seem to remember.
Yeah you're right, both Plowman and O'Rourke were both a bit of a surprise at picks 2 and 3. Toumpas and Grundy were the two tipped to go at those picks until the last few days before the draft. Not many picked them as top three talent.

More like a win/win

You guys need a forward, they need a mid and picks are pretty even.

Yeah, nah.

We don't need "a mid", we need a top-line mid - which with no offence to Neale intended - he isn't.

Freo do need "a forward" but McGovern would be a pick 30-40 prospect to them, not a 'let's give up an important cog in our midfield rotation' target.

Lose / lose.

So why is pick 6 so valuable? O'Rourke and Sumner have only been in the system a couple of years, they haven't lost much value.

I never said that. As I said, they'll probably get pick upgrades like they did with Tyson.
They did the Tyson trade because they wanted Josh Kelly badly, they don't need pick 6 badly.

Each to their own, I think I rate both players higher than the supporters of the team! Lol

I'm thinking the opposite to Scotland in regards to Neale. Wed want more than McGovern and a pick swap to give up Neale. Effectively the pick upgrades cancel each other out (I know it doesn't work that way because one is a first and one is a third) but its almost like swapping Neale for Gov. Its lose for them because they lose pick 7, which would net them one of the top 2-3 mids in the draft
