You won't get Moore with your 2nd. He is rated a consensus top 5 pick. LOL at Harry plus your first for pick 3. They would want a bit more quality for pick 3. You want to give Harry away, he is not getting you pick 3. You would be more talking about a Broomhead, Kennedy etc type. A young good midfielder plus your first for pick 3....and that is pointless, you won't have a first rounder. I wouldn't stress you are getting an elite bargain anyway. Not sure the point of getting pick 3 anyway- Petracca and Brayshaw will be long gone at 1 and 2.
Anyhow Moore is guaranteed to go with the Pies first rounder, a team like The Dogs will keep Collingwood honest by biding their 1st round pick for Moore.

Not to mention Carlton, not to mention a few others. He is probably behind McCartin as the 2nd best KPP in the draft. You would be insane to not nominate him. At worst it makes Collingwood use their 1st and it means you have access to 1 more player in the 1st round.

I said if.... This is supposd to be a trade hypothetical thread right? Anyways, I did have our 2nd round pick too in that deal if you didn't notice, not that it would change too much. Moore isn't a consensus top 5 pick, hes been rated from 6-15, and recently hes had severe hip issues which will rule him out of the combine. He's a poormans Stringer in terms of his draft situation

All clubs know Collingwood will draft Moore, no matter what, like West Coast did with Luke McDonald last year and forced North to give up a 1st rounder for him (which doesn't matter cause he will be a star) clubs like make sure Collingwood play the highest price for a player they have coverted for a few years now. Injuries to Moore won't deter clubs, its all about politics and draft positioning these days (the F/S rule)

I would trade our first rounder that is a very fair deal for Geelong, that said Scooter is a free agent next year so if he leaves I think it will be then not now.
Replacement for Ryder you'd think? Couldn't see why you'd chase him otherwise.
Three way trade might work.
Clark to Bombers, Ryder to Lions, Lions send a pick to the Demons

So if there is any truth in Beams to Lions what would be considered. Considering Judd deal had Judd and 46 go for 3,20 and Kennedy. Judd superior to Beams however Beams contracted for next year. So pick 5 and a decent youngster like Gardiner or Close or McStay.

The Lions would be extremely hesitant to move on young players considering what happened in last years trade period. Pick 5 and swap of 2nd round picks should see the deal done if Beams is set on moving and the Pies don't think they can keep him beyond his current contract.

I'm beginning to think Collingwood supporters are not into Moore. Pretty sure the Doggies will jump at him at 5 if he doesn't go to Melbourne with a their compo (assuming they get it).

Most likely the compo pick will be issued after the father son bidding.

Well if you check the Collingwood's 150 pages of Darcy moore related posts, you will see that the majority of the fans prefer us not to take Moore if carlton or bulldogs tries to screw us up. Just supporters' opinions tho, so Idk
Clubs will not bid unless they really want a player. Why would a club risk their first round pick just to negate the development of another club? The dark ages are over, unless a club really rate a player, they will not bid. It is better to focus on self-development rather than limiting all 17 other clubs' list

I don't think I've made my point. Success, premiership, victories defines a football club. Club rivalry is secondary, it is crucial to maintain a good relationship with other clubs. It's like the world war, you don't purposefully make enemies for no reason nor rewards.
