It's a classic trade that probably looks OK on paper but doesn't really benefit either side. Both better off with what they have rather than what they get in return in my opinion.

Of course you do. Deledio, Cotchin, Riewoldt, Ellis, Martin, Maric, Rance, Jackson and Vlaustin are all good players. Astbury, Edwards and Houli are serviceable enough. The rest are weak, though. Helbig is the definition of a shit footballer. 16 games, never had over 16 disposals in a game, never kicked more than 1 goal in a game and doesn't have any outstanding attributes. In fact he's 99% going to be delisted this year after playing 1 game in the AFL over the past 2 years.

I don't see it with Conca. Seems so vanilla to me. Grimes in a good defence maybe.

With Helbig he has been injured for nearly 2 years and they still rate him highly.

He's been hurt and there is no doubt they want to play together. It would not be impossible.

That said, it probably be very, very difficult. WC could use the pick as they are rebuilding. We could also add a bit part player to our first but they would probably be after a Mitch Duncan, Bundy type and we would be more interested in a Stringer, Schroeder. Brown type player.

It might work but odds against…

I think he is a top 10 pick in value, when he is not injured he is a gun.

Pick 7 + third rounder for Selwood + Sinclair.

Pick 12-15 somewhere is probably right for Selwood I'd say. Very solid, but limited, player.

He's not the kind of player West Coast should be looking to offload though, in my opinion.

I would have rated Selwood as a chance to get the Eagles captaincy so not sure why he'd want out

Both young inside midfield bulls who shared last years Liston Trophy as the best player in the VFL.

Both fit a need for us and both wouldn't cost the world despite still having some reasonable upside (both 21 from memory)
