Trade hypotheticals

well yeah, that might be his objective worth, but it'd have to be a bloody good offer to pry away a contracted 22 year old key position player we clearly want to keep and someone who would have already walked if he wanted to.

Similar concept to the 'overpaying' for a free agent to pry them away from their current club
Yeah you're probably right, he's not leaving this year anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Just watching the Adelaide game tonight, is there any chance they'd trade one of Lynch or Jenkins?

Tigers have already tied up decent coin in Chaplin as well, not that that's relevant or anything.

We keep hearing about Freo's mythical cap space, first it was Goddard, then Cloke and then Buddy, i'm not saying they don't have the coin (they well might, even with Fyfe's massive extension), but they really need a KPF more than a defender who can play forward a bit

Ok you might be interested our we managed our cap. We back ended Pavlich and Sandilands contract which was under the old vets rule that the half salary cap. The years were Pavlich and Sandilands were on lower pay when front loaded other players contracts saving $1m. We trade Broughton last yearwhich was back loaded to Gold Coast saving $400k. That give us $1.4k extra to spend, but we failed to get a key forward eg Clark, Franklin, Taylor, Cloke, and Black. Then we front load other contracts which gives $1.4 extra cap space. Pavlich and Sandilands reduction for 2015 will easy pay for Mundy and Fyfe.

I'm not sure that kind of money is going to lure a big name player over, even a bad player would probably say no to that coin;).

Average player gets $250k per year. We trade out average player will gives 2m over fours year plus 1.4m plus increases in the cap, therefore its $3.6 over 4 years 900k per year. Back load the contract so when Pavlich retires we have extra cap space. Remember, in Bond we trust.

I think he was making a joke at the fact he said $1.4k and $1.4 instead of 1.4 mil

Not sure how many picks Geelong will take this draft so not sure how deep we'd be happy to accept. Would you give up your 3rd rounder in the early-mid 40s? If not some sort of upgrade is more likely.
Probably not as he is more than likely delist material. Just used as a player helper to get to the club of his choice if he is out of favour.

You reckon? Geelong only have one ruck forward and he's injured.

Are you talking about Simpson? I don't think they would take a guy like Sinclair when they have Simpson, Macintosh and Blicavs.

Just my opinion. I think They would go after a bigger name Ruckmen. Not a guy that can hardly get a game at a club outside the 8

Ross Lyon would hardly play Lynch when he was coaching him at St Kilda and Tom was doing really well consistently in the VFL and that's why Lynch wanted out, so I'm not sure Ross would be falling all over himself to get him across to Freo now, or that Lynch would be any sort of hurry to leave Adelaide after he's just signed a contract extension to re-join his old mate Rossco.

I think he is talking about Nathan Vardy.

Our Rucks would be Hmac, Simpson, Blitz (#2 ruck at best) and Vardy (Forward who can ruck #2 at best )
Hmac has one year left on his current deal. Im not sure about taking another big name ruck man with all them on the list. However a Griffith type or someone thru the draft could be on the cards.

Go Catters

I would Love Jenkins.

McKay from Adelaide, what would it take?
