From an outsiders point of view, this looks fair to all four clubs!
He can just walk in psd to saints for nothing anyway so they may accept this.
It's not that far from being equal anyway JOR is worth very late 1st/early 2nd. Patfull is worth mid 2nd round & gives GWS that mature defender.

We don't have a 3rd rnd pick & he clearly isn't worth more then that anyway. By all reports Blues are super keen to move him on. I'd imagine we offer our 4th rnd pick or a player eg Blease

I doubt any clubs above us will be using a 4th round pick, including Melbourne. So if Carlton were so inclined to use a 4th round pick they'd just use their own.
I'd like to swap 2nd round picks, Melbourne use the lower 2nd round on Lumumba & Carlton can at least go back to GWS with a slightly higher pick to try & get Jaksch.
People have short memories. Melbourne's leading goal kickers for the past 3 seasons have managed 29 (2012), 28 (2013) & 20 (2014) goals for the year.
In his previous 4 seasons, Garlett averaged 39.75 goals/season.
Even in an extremely poor season, garlett's 12 goals/9 games had him on track to kick 29 goals for the season ie would easily have topped Melbourne's goal kicking for the year (and the past 3 years).
For the first time since his debut season, garlett has underperformed and now he is worth nothing more than a delisted player from a bottom team? (blease)

If GWS were to hand over a late teens pick or perharps an early 20's pick then the deal could get done. To do that though there would need to be another trade happen first or another club get involved given GWS used their pick 23 in the academy bidding.

Essentially, you're saying Beams = Patfull + one pick upgrade. Brisbane would take that and run.
Similarly, you're saying Patful + pick downgrade = Treloar + O'Rourke. GWS would laugh that off.
As for Collingwood, they'd love that deal too. Greenwood + Treloar for Beams. Overs.
North is about the only one that's near balanced there.
No offence, but start again.
GWS have said shiel is more valuable then #3. Treloar is a better player than shiel so I'm not sure how #5 suddenly cuts the mustard for an even higher rated player?

I can't see us dropping down the 2nd rnd for him. If that's what Blues wanted I wouldn't bother with him.
Is he contracted? If so you will keep him.
If he's out if contract we can either trade said pick, wait until 1st list lodgement & he's delisted & pick up via delisted FA rules or draft him via PSD.
I'm not fussed if he gets to MFC but I wouldn't pay much for him.

Probably, best shot might be pick 54 from North.
I still cannot see how a +39 goal/year small forward (Which Garlett has achieved x3 times in the last four years) is only worth a 5 spot upgrade on a 2nd rd pick .......... Krakouer was worth #25 after a couple of years in Jail, and Garlett isn't anywhere near that situation. Sure his value is at a low point (and I would MUCH rather keep him and get him back on track next year) but calls for a 4th rd selection of a small pick upgrade are crap.
Put it this way. Melbourne claim Frawley wasn't a top 20 defender this year because he was played as a forward
Even at Garlett's worst year (this year) he almost averaged twice as many goals as Frawley, and was 3 behind in total goals.
Frawley = #3 as far as Melbourne supporters are concerned
Surely Garlett would thus be worth their 2nd rd selection
