I can't see us dropping down the 2nd rnd for him. If that's what Blues wanted I wouldn't bother with him.

Is he contracted? If so you will keep him.
If he's out if contract we can either trade said pick, wait until 1st list lodgement & he's delisted & pick up via delisted FA rules or draft him via PSD.

I'm not fussed if he gets to MFC but I wouldn't pay much for him.

Tough one. Option 2 or 3 for North.

Feel that North will want a player in return for Greenwood, but the possibility of two 2nd rounders is tempting, especially if we could on-trade it for someone. Who though, I dont know.

No point trading anything more than a 5th - 7th round pick for Garlett. He's worth slightly more but Carlton want him out so just get him in the preseason draft. Interest is low.

I'm not looking for a fight or arguing semantics. There's a pretty big difference between 'the media are reporting that no club wants him' & 'he's been linked to Melbourne & that's the very reason he's being discussed here'.

Again, there's absolutely no reason to trade 4th round picks. In practice there'll be no difference between Melbourne's 4th round & Carlton's 4th round. If Carlton want 5 draftees then their 5th round would be pretty much the next pick too (although maybe Essendon would still be picking at this stage with their draft penalties).

EDIT: What you're really saying is that you wouldn't be interested in trading for Garlett

Hopefully a second round pick, more likely a third rounder. There isn't much of value for Geelong on the list that they would likely get access to. Lycett would be good, but West Coast is unlikely to trdae him with Cox gone.

Sounds like McGuane last year. Announced he wanted to come to Brisbane... except it turned out Brisbane wasn't hugely keen on him. Ended up signing as a DFA to fill our last list spot.

I would back us to get a better player for our needs in the draft in the second round.

Melbourne add to their spine depth, and GWS now have picks 2, 3, 4 to start shopping around to secure some ready made talent. Gold Coast have finally realised to move up they need experience and went and got Malceski, and while GWS got Shaw and Mumford last year they need more experience to ease the burden on the likes of Shiel and co.

I'm not selling him short at all. I've said he has obvious talent but I wouldn't give up much for him.

He can kick goals which is an obvious need but due to his circumstances & the fact that at this time no other club has been linked to him it is a buyers market!

Quick question. People seem to think that Mitch Clarke is worth a 2nd rd selection. Question. If this is so then why isn't Garlett worth the same?
