None of them are stars though, just good solid journeymen. If I was St Kilda I'd trade pick 1 for Boyd in a heartbeat. He is a far superior talent to McCartin based on junior form. The jury is still out as to whether either can convert that to AFL form though.

I wouldn't, and purely from a marketing perspective you don't. A club like St Kilda need to be in the news for the right reasons and McCartin will bring sponsorship dollars to the club, Boyd would but not as much. You would trade pick 1 for Cameron...Boyd I'm not sure, just seems an 'in betweener'...is he a key forward, is he a ruck?

From what I've heard Boyd is better than any KPF this year. Pick 1 across different drafts are not necessarily equal. Strange logic going on here

He might be but again Boyd is the worst one to target. Cameron sure, he is worth pick 1 (and more). Boyd is an 'in betweener". Sure some work, but a lot don't.

GWS isn't a supermarket. You can only trade for a player if they're available. The scenario we were discussing is if Boyd was available. If that's the case, St Kilda would have to choose between Boyd & maybe McCartin

About as much of an inbetweener as Daniher. Daniher has not done much in his two years there so I guess you would be very keen to trade him for McCartin? He is a mile behind where Cameron was in his second year and Daniher has been in the Essendon system since he was a pup.

Boyd has more talent than anyone in this draft and I am sure the Saints would be falling over themselves to trade the first pick for him if they got the chance. Short term marketing is fine but long term success brings in a hell of a lot more dollars and Boyd has a much better chance of acheiving that.

Essendon get a quality forward and GWS get some pace around the ground. Win win scenario.

Edit: Also wanted to throw out there; Patton for 2nd rounder. Either trades are good.

One of the most lopsided trades I've seen on here. Essendon are favoured massively and there is absolutely no chance at all GWS bite. All Dodoro would get is the sound of a slamming phone in his ear.

I'll throw in a 4th rounder as a generous offer.

Higgins would be handy off the HFF for the Dons. Maybe Jetta for him or even Hardingham though the Dogs may need to chuck in a sweetener.

Sylvia and our fourth for St Kilda's first and second?

It's basically win-win because St Kilda get a player in the age-bracket they need and Freo can go and grab a good KPF in the draft.

St Kilda paying way overs and it doesn't suit them anyway. They may need players in that age bracket but not for a high price. Need to rebuild and keep stocking up on youngsters; trading their first two picks (one of which is very likely to be pick 1) isn't going to do that.

On current form you'd be lucky to get much at all for Sylvia, regardless.
