Trade hypotheticals

What would Rich be worth to get out of Brisbane?
Top ten pick or something of equivalent value. He's somebody the Lions probably wouldn't entertain offers on though; they're building quite a good midfield and he's sort of the missing link this year.

I would trade scooter for Duncan. Id preferably like to keep both, but if scooter came to us and said he wanted to play with his bro, then that would be as fair as we would get.

I am a big fan of Duncan. I think we should be targeting him this year.

If Coniglio were out of contract (like he is next year)...

What's the asking price? Assuming West Coast's first pick is around #10 or so. I'm guessing it's unders even if he does declare he wants out.

A top 3 pick would be the absolute minimum and even then that is unders. Not as if his value has decreased!

Trade your second and then use your third pick ( now second) on waterman. All you need to do is use your next available pick after a club nominates him. Doubt a team within the first 6-8 would pick him
Cant do that as the F/S is done before trade week starts for this very reason of manipulating trades.

I know he's not worth this at all, but I'm not sure I'd accept even pick 1 for Rich. He's an important player on field as well as our vice captain, has bought into what we're doing and has two years left on his contract. He's what Michael Voss calls a 'fabric player'.

Given the exodus last October, I'd want to make it pretty clear to everyone at our club (especially recent draftees) that the attitude isn't 'we'll move you on if the price is right' and rather 'if you buy in, we'll stay loyal to you'.

Still it's pointless to speculate his trade value because he's contracted, valuable to us, doesn't want to leave etc.

No way is he worse than Chaplin or Grimes

The fact that Chaplin came 3rd in the B+F last year says more about Richmond than it does about Chaplin. Using that as an example when Daniel ******* Jackson won it is, well, idiotic

Seriously Chaplin has played over a 150 games. He's a much better player than pears on exposed form. How could you suggest otherwise.

In your opinion.

What's wrong with you. As it stands now statistically Essendon has the third rated defence - defence is the least of Essendon's issues - There is no point arguing the inarguable. It's the attack which is the issue - Rated 14th.

Would West Coast really be interested in trading Shuey?
How bout Andrew Gaff?

Would gladly give our first pick for either, with maybe a second rounder back our way (debatable?), especially if Frawley leaves and we end up with 2 top 5 picks.

Same with Jack Steven. If saints want another top pick I'd give Melbourne's for him also, in a heartbeat.
A late pick for Malceski so as not to mess with our Frawley Compo, maybe 3rd/4th rounder?

Would any teams be interested in Sam Blease? I like the kid, but can hardly crack a senior game. Same with Tapscott? Apart from that I don't see many players on our list that could attract anything that we could afford to lose, unless the offer was ridiculous. I can't see too many ridiculous offers for Melbourne players coming our way.

I'd be interested in Richard Douglas from Adelaide, for our second rounder? and maybe a 3rd/4th rounder back our way? I think Douglas is probably worth around the 25-30 mark at his best, and our second rounder is a bit high. Adelaide fans?

From all reports Melbourne had a bit crack at David Myers last year, but Essendon weren't remotely interested. Given his better form this year I couldn't see them parting with him now.

Any other teams willing to part something for a top 5 pick?

Id be interested in Toumpas given he is ways behind everyone else it seems at D's and can't get out of the magoos right now at all. He was a high pick that has, in fairness, done SFA (for a number of reasons). I have a feeling however that you'd be wanting a Rd1 pick for him based purely on where he was drafted and that for mine would be be massive overs given what he has done since his draft day. Am I correct or would you accept less?

Go Catters

We have the 4th - I would not label ours as elite. I think you just need to watch the weekends games to see that.

Don't see why it wouldn't get done? I'd trade Hill for Selwood in a heartbeat.

Well, Brad Hill.

Point being.... Hill isnt going anywhere. Just signed till 2017
Super important player
Would take absoloute gold to pull him away and with no outside run at all and only a 10ish pick
you would have to work a miracle to make it happen.

Something like Shuey and your 10 pick... and probably the third rounder too

He is WAY too important to the Hawks

Any nibbles for Suckling though?

Could see the Dogs interested in him, Maybe the Tigers

Despite having Walters and Ballantyne, I still think the Dockers could use Jeff Garlett.

Swap for Sheridan or Crozier?

I think the above is a better return than anything we are likely to get from the Eagles (given their second round is off the table).

We have Duffy in the wings who can also play as a small forward, we also have D Pearce, Hill and Simpson as wingers so don't need Gartlett and we rate Crozier and Sheridan very highly, both are pushing for selection next week and will be best 22 next week.

Fantastic. Definitely interested if that's the case.

I actually don't mind Gwilt as a footballer although a few of his performances have been horrific.

His game against Carlton a few weeks back was one of the worst I've seen from a professional footballer...ever.

Having said that I do see value in him and at 27/28 he could have a few more serviceable years in him yet.

I've thought about him from a Carlton perspective as a 3rd defender but with White solidifying his spot in the side and really performing quite well I just don't see that need any more.

If Essendon sees a need for a mature 3rd tall defender then you could do a lot worse than Gwilt. Not sure he'd cost all that much.

He wouldn't be playing 3rd tall, more 4th tall. Like Rampe/Laidler at Sydney. If he was in the side last night instead of say, Hibberd we would line up like:

Hooker-Redpath
Hurley-Crameri
Gwilt-Bontempelli
Fletcher-Stringer
