You are expecting a club to give up one of their best players + first round pick which can trade for a superstar for min five years instead trade it for an 18yo that has played five games, really now??
Why?
Really? Gibbs and pick 6 for Boyd? Why don't we throw in Murphy as a sweetener?
Boyd's kicked 19 goals from 12 NEAFL games this year. Jaksch is playing much better footy, why would we bother chasing Boyd, just because of draft hype?
Gibbs is very good, but he struggles to be in the top 10 mids in the game and your first pick?
For a guy who could be the next Jono Brown?
But he is not Jono Brown, got it?? Just because the system had him best player at his age 12 months ago doesn't mean that value is maintained constant 12 months later. Is this the Richmond rulebook for trading success?

Just FYI, I think it's a fair deal
Fair enough I reckon.
I wanna see more 3 way trades in this thread.
Melbourne gain - Dylan Shiel
Carlton gain - Jacsch
GWS gain - pick 4, pick 6?
He could be? Has shown some great glimpses.
While I don't agree with the pot shots at Richmond, using Richmond is a good comparison.
You're likely to have pick 10 or thereabouts this year. Would you trade Cotchin + pick 10 for Boyd? Considering Cotchin would struggle to be ahead of Dangerfield, Rockliff, Pendlebury, Beams, Watson, Fyfe, Selwood, Ablett, Mitchell, Kennedy?
You're severely overrating Boyd. To say 'Carlton bias' is an absolute joke. Boyd could be anything - from Jono Brown, to a decent player who had way too much hype over him. Better to have a proven quality performer and a player with potential, than just a player with potential.
Sorry to double-team you, but Gibbs is FINALLY showing something approaching elite and consistent footy, after five years of mediocrity (for a hyped draft pick) and some cameo performances.
Jaksch will be much cheaper. Trading heavily for Boyd isn't what Carlton need to do.
This is far more realistic - still not sure GWS would be happy with it though.
Anyone interested in Clarke from Fremantle? Really relished the number 1 ruck role last year but is pretty useless as a resting ruck up forward. Fremantle probably wouldn't trade him but I consider him first round talent. Any takers?
Good jokeGibbs + pick 6 for someone like Fyfe not Boyd...
Would you take Clarke and our first (16-18) for 10 and maybe a sweetener? Your second?Would be very interested, but wouldn't give up pick 10.
And our second is way unders.

I think he will be a great ruckman, as long as he isn't relied upon to play as a tall forward too often. When he played sole ruck last year he looked a million bucks. Sandi spoiled the party in a wayI would do Clarke + 18 for 10 + third.
Win/win deal, we need a ruck bad and Clarke is still relatively young.
