Jonathan O'Rourke, Brandon Ellis, Tom Sheridan and Micheal Talia are mates from their Calder Cannon days.

Wouldn't say the Calder link has that much weight.

Not that I'm disputing they're mates or anything, but there's so many Calder blokes in the system you'd be hard pressed to find a club that he wouldn't know people at.

That exactly right, the calder link is just where they most likely became mates. If they didn't know each other prior to that.

Knowing their mates is from the Instagram posts that get put up on our team's tan thread all the time.

Likewise Liam McBean and Joe Daniher.

Any trade involving Boyd with GWS just got way more expensive with Patton going down again. You could argue they could trade one of Cameron, Patton, Boyd and get by ok and get another #1 pick for it.

Now, with Patton sadly going down again the likelihood of a Boyd trade diminishes or the cost goes up greatly. GWS won't want to be left with just Cameron and Patton who is now questionable.

Go Catters

Sam Reid it is then that we have to go after.

Patton's injury will have a follow on effect and GWS would probably play harder ball over their stockpiled KPPs, teams going after Jaksch might now have to pay overs unless he states the club he wants to go to.

Given our list is fairly tight I can't imagine we'd want anybody from the Bombers who you'd be willing to give up (so...straight swap for Heppell?).

So it's likely to be a pick or a pick upgrade. Realistically somewhere lateish in the 2nd round would probably be what we'd want so something early 30s. You guys won't have that and your 3rd rounder would be into the 50s which is pretty low for him. I'd imagine we'd love to get our hands on your end of 1st rounder since we probably won't be taking a lot of picks this year. But then pick 35 or there abouts and Hunt for pick 20 is probably too much of a downgrade. Whatever happens I imagine if he wants to go to Essendon we'll find a way to get him there without too much fuss. It might just need to wait for another deal or 2 so that we've got picks in the right range to upgrade.
Would he be in the gun to be delisted? Are you likely to keep him if no trade was possible? I would like him for a 3/4th rounder.

Don't think we would give our pick 5 or 6 whatever we end up with for Mckenzie however I'm more than happy to trade down that first pick into the 12 - 18 range and take a punt on McKenzie purely because we can afford to take a risk with our first rounder (because of our recent draft successes).

FWOW I think all of Collingwood, Fremantle and Richmond might heavily consider Jones. He had to carry our foward line from the age of 20 and struggled getting the number 1 forward when technically hes a number 2 option. A team such as collingwood could move Reid back into the defence to sure up their KPD issues and have Jones play at CHF. I don't want to get rid of Jones at this stage, but I think a couple of teams will be more interested in him than Griffiths.
I think right now Griffiths is showing more than Jones. They both need to get more of the pill.

I still think there may be something there for them in Lowden

Maybe it's 2nd round upgrade or Lowden and our 2nd for the tigers first

With Lowden the problem is that he's 4th Ruckman sure. But it's the fact he's behind Gunston and Roughy in the forward line too!

Really surprised he's not playing this week!
Not a chance. Way overs.

Do not want Reid, would much rather just keep our first pick.

Tyson will go to the tigers

Hoskin-Elliott will go to the tigers

All playaz will go to tigers!!

Lol

Richmond simply haven't got the trade assests to get that trade done for O'Roueke, their first rounder isn't low enough to satisfy GWS, and they haven't got any desirable players they would be willing to trade with.
