Trade hypotheticals

No I am not, Martin has been our best player this year.

I think GWS would be foolish not to think about WHE and Whiley for 10 + 28.

GWS don't need picks they need good experienced players. Pick 10 + Shane Edwards for WHE + pick 40

Oh, the second rounder? Of course, GWS, with up to 10 first rounders that haven't cracked the seniors regularly, would be drooling over the prospect of a pick that has a fraction of a chance at being better than those.

We would be giving up our 2 first picks for WHE as Whiley isn't worth much.

Just because that's all Richmond can give up, it doesn't make WHE worth that much. WHE's basically a first round talent that's had the risk of him busting removed. Would you give up one of Richmond's first rounders that are regular best 22 for picks 10 and 28? If Ellis was playing for my team I wouldn't give up him for that, for example, and he was a lot later first round pick than Martin and WHE were.

Sweet hahah.

They should - ontrade pick 2 + pick 10 + Cameron for Dangerfield and Sloan

GWS lose pick 2 , Cameron, WHE
GWS gain Dangerfield, Sloan, Edwards, pick 40

draft pick 20, 34, 40, 52

That should do them.

WHE is worth a top 4 pick alone, not sure how and why he would be traded for pick 10 and some other rubbish. WHE is almost as untradeable as you get from the GWS list. One of the few blokes on their list with elite foot skills.

Whoa talking about over rating a youngster - he barely gets over 15 touches averaging 13 touches per game. He could improve but you want a genuine young star at pick 4. IMO anyway... don't rate him as highly as Brad Crouch or Dion Prestia

I would take 15-20 disposals and 2-3 goals a goals from a HF/mid. He could easily be as good as Steve Johnson. Eventually he will play midfield more than anything, still fairly lightly framed. Worth a top 5 pick easily. Was picked there, hasn't gone down in value. Has had games where he has kicked 5, 4, 3 goals in a team that is in the bottom 4, playing as a HF mid.

Congrats on showing you don't watch GWS. WHE plays mainly as a HFF, not a midfielder, and plays like Jared Brennan but with work ethic.

WHE has a bit of early Fyfe about him. Has come in as a marking half forward and looks right at him there but his ability on the ground and in a contest is also clearly going to be elite. Of all the GWS players he'd be the one I'd want (versatile, quality medium sized players and more valuable than key forwards in my opinion). It's not worth it to GWS to give him up for any draft pick.

If GWS trade for picks then there's something wrong. That's 80% of the reason they wouldn't trade WHE + Whiley for 10 and 28.

If Whiley isn't worth much then why do you want him??

Typical non-sensical parochial trade suggestion thrown up.

WHE is untouchable, erase him from your thoughts.

If our list managers did your proposed trade I will end up in the big house for committing a heinous crime!

With Lycett re-signing with WC, what does this do to Luke Lowden's trade value.
With the decline in David Hale's form, I dont want to see Lowden go......but there are a few clubs after ruckman and Lowden is ready to go......might not have the AFL experience, but 6 years of development might appeal to some. Otherwise take your chances in the draft.

Everyone has their price

Wouldn't have thought any effect. He's still worth as little as before.

Seriously mate are you just trolling??

WHE is one of the brightest young stars in the comp and you want him and Whiley for pick 10.

Richmond would be imprisoned for stealing and SOS and Gubby hauled away to a padded cell if they ever let that happen!!
Wouldn't say he's one of the brightest young stars in the comp.

It's a matter of opinion.

WHE has had a couple of injury ridden seasons before this year where he is starting to come of age.

With his skill set speed/endurance/leap/height he is a truly unique proposition.

He has improved his consistency and is not fading out of games as he was prone to do early doors. His highlights reel would be as impressive as any 21yo in the AFL.

He is also displaying more confidence and I think as one of the first year players is thriving on being one of the leaders for the younger kids.

If WHE can polish up his goal kicking he can be truly elite. As his kicking technique is very good I think he will do this and prove a star of the competition.

Wingard.

Mate that is subjective. If you watched WHE's highlight reel it's right up there.

Wingard is a gun as well.

Both of them are crowd pleasers.
What would someone like Golds or Stewart cost?

I think Golds would be late 2nd round.

Stewart is a bit of a project so I don't think will be on table this year.

He had a bad back injury and missed a lot of footy and had a very wiry frame which he's done well to build up.

Having said that we have a lot of depth with talls... I don't know maybe early to mid 2nd round??

Considering we skipped Stewart as a second or maybe 3rd round F/S selection, I dont think hes worth that much
