I personally think the Hawks will be pretty hesitant to trade out of the first couple of rounds of the draft unless it is to bring in a 20-25 year old midfielder. I imagine we are one of the clubs in the hunt for Frawley but if we were to miss out on him then I think that's where the club could look to someone like Pears. He has obviously struggled since returning from all of his injuries but showed so much potential early days.

I think/hope we might be more into the likes of Kristian Jaksch Levi. I feel the Hawks may look more long term in this trade/draft period than people think.

I know you have mentioned Jaksch on our board LM but I think to get him we would need to use our 1st pick and I really think that needs to be used to bring in a quality mid via trade or drafting. One thing for sure is that Graeme Wright will have something up his sleeve that we don't see coming.
What do ppl see Hawthorns 1st pick + Suckling being able to attract? We would be looking at a young mid or a pick uprgrade.

Jason Johannisen is a kid with talent that will almost certainly be traded this year, I'd say. He's a hard one to pick in terms of trade value, but you wouldn't think much. I know Essendon have been interested in the past.

I tend to agree, I just know you've chased him in the past so there is likely some interest there.

Regardless, I don't think he'll be at the Dogs next year.

He's a really good kid and would relish a move home back home (not to say he doesn't like perth or anything) and would probably be a walk up start in 18 months, if not earlier

Realistically, probably not. Freo's patronised him and given him games. Sutcliffe's loved by Ross and plays his role, but I put Crozier and Sheridan as players seen as future first-22 and who'll get 10 games a year until they're at that level.

I don't like him though, personally. I used to want to see him do well and thought he offered something, but he seems an awkward height for us: he doesn't have the intensity of Chris Mayne but that's the type of forward he has to be – a middle height forward who runs himself ragged with leads, chasing, and tackles. I can't ever see him getting to that level. And I certainly don't see him as well rounded enough as a midfielder, he doesn't have the footy brain for it. But hey, plenty of Freo fans like him and the coaches do too so...

But what about Martin Gleeson? I love the guy. He's thin as a rake but surely capable of putting weight on. He's not as tall as I thought so rebounding defender it is, but I loved him: looks up, has the confidence to take the game on, knows a good option, doesn't make dumb decisions but realises you have to be quick... I really rate him as a footballer. You're coaching Essington and I'm at Freo – would you take Croz for Gleeson? If not, what's your return offer?

I would be shocked if we trade Kreuzer for a second round pick like Hampson. Mick has already said that Casboult has to improve and hold his spot once Kreuzer comes back. Assuming he's fit, Kreuzer will be the number one ruck or forward/ruck next year. His competitive streak and second effort puts him miles ahead of Warnock.

Gaff is the last type of player we need. Need to build the midfield before we add a Gaff who is icing like Lewis Jetta and Isaac Smith. We don't need soft outside mids who average fewer tackles than Lucas. That would be the main reason why Sugar isn't getting a game.

I'l take a Guthrie-type if there's one available.

Kreuzer can't play forward to save himself, can only be used as a primary ruck which leaves Warnock out of the side. Kreuzer has more trade value than Warnock, hence Kreuzer goes.

To be honest, we need a better ruckman than anyone we have on our list. Kreuzer at his best is a very good ruckman, but durability and consistency have been his downfall.

We are building a midfield, Cripps was brought in as a hard at it extractor to add to Bell and an improving Robinson. We've also got Holman and Graham coming through. We don't have any decent outside players developing. If you listen to Shane Rogers, the club knows we need an outside player with polish which is what we'll be targeting in the trade/draft period.

Pears is a spud. Worse than Grimes and Chaplin. Also, Astbury is clearly better as well.

5th in line in the 4th best defence in the league. He'd be getting games at most clubs in the AFL. Was he not that good when he held Fevola (1st in Coleman) and Brown (2nd) to 2 goals between them as a 19 year old?

He is a long way off best 22 in the 10th best side in the comp.

He looked liked the next Jackovic early in his career but injuries has stopped him coming on. There is no way he is better than Rance, Chaplin and Astbury. Chaplin came 3rd in the Tigers B&F last year.

What would you give for selwood.

Thats a tough one. One of our decent young players, trade for another 1st rounder and trade both for him and a 2nd rounder. Or maybe get more clubs involved like the Burgoyne and Polec trades

I certainly don't want to see him go but I fear he's not being managed well and will seek a trade.
