Would anyone entertain a trade of a (probably mid-late) 2nd round pick for Essendon's 3rd (likely to be 45-50) for any of the players Yoda_ mentioned earlier (Jetta, Hardingham, Nick O'Brien, Pears), or Ariel Steinberg? I imagine we'll be looking to trade into the 2nd round. Or even a close exchange of 1st round picks, potentially, though I guess you'd have to be very keen on someone filling a need. Steinberg in particular has been killing it in the VFL and is unfortunate to be behind our handful of KPDs, Hardingham hasn't played much this year but is a handy versatile defender / swingman in a pinch, and Jetta's problems are from the shoulders up, he might benefit from a change of scenery. Any takers?

I would hardly be expecting the world for any of them though.

Trying to keep the bullshit out of it, what impact will the ASADA shit have on the value of a bombers player?

Eg - if Pears is worth 30 (or 40 - or whatever) without the risk of suspension - then how much does the ASADA risk impact his value?

If he has received a show cause, and if the court case fails next month, then a ban is a very real scenario. I know I'd want west coast to be pricing in this risk.

Similarly, how will this risk impact the recruiting of players from other teams?

Re-reading the article made me think it probably won't happen so trade value is probably irrelevant. Pretty sloppy stuff and probably made-up, much like most of the information in it. As for what we would get for him, that's out of my league. Never get it right so I leave that to the experts.

I disagree. IMO the risk of a ban should be factored in if the decision-making process is rational. The only question is how great a risk clubs see it as.
