Steinberg was initially used as a forward and they shifted him back last year (no idea why) but has really blossomed into the role - fantastic intercept mark as far as defenders go.

Ah k, Darrou is more of a stopper, but has a pretty impressive rebound game too, for a nuggety KPD. Not sure how he'll translate to AFL level though, being 190cm. If Steinberg is more of a sweeper, he's probably got a better chance of making it than Darrou.

He is an awkward height though being a bit of an inbetweener and there is a huge step up in class for those types going against the bigger quicker athletes in the AFL. Some adapt but the majority do not. I am not writing him off but I would not be expecting a lot in return for him if anything. Patfull was a rookie at Port, similar measurables and we got him for nothing.

From memory I don't think you can trade rookies either.

Similar sizes, similar styles, Maxwell obviously the better leader and organizer, but Steinberg is better one on one imo. Very good intercepter and distributes fairly well

A bit simplistic to say Maxwell is retiring here's a similiar player. Pies aware Maxy is 30+ and have similar players in Langdon, Oxley, Scharenburg, all similar heights to Steinberg and all ahead of him.
