Probably the only clubs we'd be at all likely to deal pick 1 to would be GWS (because they just have so much they could trade for it- both from their list, or picks, or a combo of both), Gold Coast (same as GWS, but probably to a lesser extent- although they do have a higher compo pick than GWS this year) and maybe Melbourne, if they get pick 3/4/5 for losing Frawley and for whatever reason (probably to get Petracca) want to upgrade to pick 1.

Fair call. Yep, only teams that are pretty laden with talent would be likely to get anywhere near getting a deal done for pick 1.

Agreed, especially because this year there doesn't seem to be a standout pick 1 like Tom Boyd last year.
We don't really need another key forward though.

Is there a consensus number one pick this year that would merit moving up in the draft as there was with Tom Boyd last year, though?
Don't think there is any chance of the Suns trading up.

You won't be getting pick 1 I would thought Brisbane would be certainties have the harder draw and with percentage only separating us and you playing so well yesterday Brisbane would not trade pick 1

Both would be great. But I think too expensive, and probably wouldn't want to come to WC anyway. Well Zaharakis anyway.
I feel like the impact of the SC notices will derail Essendon's trade period, but no one is talking about it. Bit of an elephant in the room IMO.

Zaharakis is in the clear regarding ASADA.
He's a pussy and doesn't like injections so never agreed to be injected.
Good for him though. Would love to see him at Adelaide, but don't think that's even a remote possibility.

Spot on about the Elephant in the room, it will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
Shuey is a Melbourne boy so should come home to play in front of his friends family and with his best mate then
Port are a fascinating team come trade time I reckon. They have so much young talent but are probably getting to the stage where they consider some moves to round out the team.
If I was them I'd put Butcher on the table and see what you can get for him.
And despite his flaws I'd be keen on Waite as a free agent pick up as well even if he was just depth. Port are getting to the stage where they need to consider having depth so they can reach that next level.
Their weakest spot does seem to be that other option for either 2nd key forward or 2nd ruck depending on how you want to use Westhoff. I'd want Westhoff to play his CHF and floating up to the wing and backline role and not have to ruck. So I'd go after a second ruck who has the mobility to play forward and not get in the way of Schulz, Wingard etc.
I'd be signing Waite as a free agent, then offering up Butcher in a deal with Carlton for Kreuzer with a swap of picks as well. I think Kreuzer would work really well at Port as a back up to Lobbe.
