Any nibbles for Suckling though?

Could see the Dogs interested in him, Maybe the Tigers
Collingwood would be interested i would think, ive seen him play very good, but like Clinton Young can his worst be shocking(fumbles under pressure)?
I dont really want another Young, to much of a confidence player.

Anyone intested in Jarryd Blair?

Would A late pick for Malceski so as not to mess with our Frawley Compo, maybe 3rd/4th rounder

Why would we do that when, if we let him walk at worst we would get a second rounder? At best a 1st rounder from compo........ as he is unrestricted, if we cant match the deal we will let him go, I cant see us trading him unless it was fair price.

Bulldogs should send Higgins (GWS) and Cooney (hawthorn) as well would give us Trade picks like:

Pick 5 -Weller -on baller Half back kids a Jet
Pick 23-Elliss - Elite kick play anywhere
pick 24-Keitel - Forward or back
pick 25-Lamb--The freak in this draft got a feeling about this kid
43 Cordy--CHB in 3 years

Retire
Goodes
Gia
Williams
Delist
Fuller
Pierce

I'd take Mitch Duncan for Selwood in a heartbeat.
Id keep Mitch but give you our first for Sccoter…. ( 15 - 18 probably)

I would like to trade for Shane Kersten.

I think he is worth something around pick 30 at the moment, although if he keeps playing well I could bump it up a fraction. I don't think he is quiet worth pick our first round draft pick (16-20), so maybe something like pick 16-20 for Kersten and pick 33-38.

I would reluctantly add our 3rd round pick if it was needed to clinch the deal, although as well need to take 3 players through the draft I would be reluctant to add this.

Sadly he was passed over 4 times I think it was in the draft by WA clubs. Kinda left a bad taste from what I know. Not saying the $$ can't cover that up but im pretty sure WA is not on his radar. And as for the value, he was taken early 30's. Granted its only game 5, but he's come out and gone straight to work and done very well. Not outstanding but well. This on the back of fantastic VFL performances and as a result your numbers for value are probably light.

Bottom line. Cats want to keep him. Can see a forward line of Hawkins, Vardy and Kersten next year. Could be great for us.

He wouldn't be playing 3rd tall, more 4th tall. Like Rampe/Laidler at Sydney. If he was in the side last night instead of say, Hibberd we would line up like:

Hooker-Redpath
Hurley-Crameri
Gwilt-Bontempelli
Fletcher-Stringer

Is Gwilt mobile enough for that role? He's only 1cm taller than Hibberd and I'd much rather a taller faster player in that role although Gwilt may gain pace if he lost some weight.

Dunno if anyone has asked but Bellchambers?
Thoughts on him as a full time full forward? Thats what we(Collingwood) need, noticed he kicked 30 in 2013 while averaging about 20 hitouts per game, impressive stuff. We cant trade a first rounder, but would a 2nd rounder and someone on the fringe/late best 22 player be enough?

And on Steinberg, i hope Collingwood try trade him in, Collingwood supporter mentioned that Langdon, Oxley and Scharenberg will replace Maxwell, that probably wont happen, Maxwell could play on resting ruckman(Currie and Griffiths) and also key forwards to some extent(Pods), Oxley would just get thrown to the crowd(hes a stick figure) and Langdon and Scharenberg are still only young and are back flankers, not 3rd talls. Oxley, Scharenberg and Langdon are back flankers, the later two will become mid/backman, Steinberg would be our 3rd tall defender who plays on the resting ruckman and peels off them to intercept mark, Steinberg would look undersized at 191cm, but hes someone who uses his body in contests well and id back him to do well on third talls/resting rucks.

As an absolute hypothetical, 12 months on and you are GWS and Western Bulldogs recruiters sitting down for a coffee.

Would you do a straight swap Boyd for Bonti?

I'd imagine the WB recruiters would choose life.

He's not lightning but he isn't slow. He may only be 188cm but he plays taller than that, and his kicking is sublime

We'd need the 1st pick from Collingwood, plus he's contracted. With our current ruck depth (read: non existant) I'd be loathe to trade him except for either a first round pick or a 2nd round pick plus a Giles/Griffen type

On Steinberg; if Carlisle stays forward he's probably next in line in defence.

We would have found a way to give him a game if that was the case. I'm confident we'd jump at a second rounder for Steinberg and back our recruiters to find a back line version of Ambrose in the rookie draft.

A much as I think Bont will be a gun GWS wouldn't do it. Dogs would.
Doubt we would, tbh. Macca wouldn't trade a young, very talented player that he's developed/developing who wants to stay.

I think it'd be the other way around. GWS have a number of quality key position prospects and could afford to lose one for a freakish prospect in Bontempelli.

The Dogs won't sell The Bont under any circumstances, though. He's almost already our most marketable player.

I thought both would be a stretch, but with some others on here looking at 10-15 for Shuey thought it might be workable. Gaff alone certainly fills a need for Melbourne, with pace and skill. Our second rounder is too low (at roughly pick 24/25). With West Coast looking likely to finish 10-12th you will have somewhere around pick 8/9. Would Gaff and 8 for 4 and 24 work?

We have very little to trade in the way of players that we can afford to lose. I don't think we have any WA players on our list with the go home factor (except Hogan and given he re-signed a matter of weeks ago I don't see an issue there). So realistically we are only really trading picks, unless there is someone on our list who you might be interested in (outside of Tyson, Jones, Hogan and a couple of others).

Thats pretty reasonable. We would still prefer to re sign him, but if he nominates Melbourne then this could be worse I suppose.

I assume the Demons will have to use pick 24 on Stretch.
