Actually he does fit a need. He is still young and could take a step up from when eventually richards retires. We have a need for a kpd. LRT for us is just about done and cant break into seniors plus he is 30 at least. Grundy as well is 28. Brown is young. Dean towers for you guys would mean he adds that pace and still quite young. He would be very close to home as well as he was from colac. It does make sense as a trade maybe a swap of 3rd rounders would get the deal done.

late first rounder, fullbacks especially good ones don't grow on trees. If we didn't have a zillion defenders, I would have no hesitation in trading for Brown.
You can still have bad games tho, regardless of season long stats.
Not for me, as I want our cash reserves for a mid or fwd.

It is a fair deal because Brown will be traded for a 3rd/4th rounder late pick or delisted, but why would Towers want to come here? He wouldn't get regular games, I would imagine he leaves Sydney for gametime which means he needs to go to a vic club towards the bottom half of the ladde, not a top club.
Brown's a poor mans Ben Reid with a forward bias instead of Reid's defensive bias. He can be dominant at VFL but will struggle until he puts on a little extra weight in his upper body, but given that's he's 24 he might not be physically able to bulk up anymore. I am not sure he is the type of player you would want as a KPD, he could really be exposed one on one which isn't too much of an issue for him up forward but could cost you a game as a defender. His overhead marking has been weakened by a succession of shoulder injuries. On the plus side he has good athleticism for his size, good endurance and decent speed and acceleration for his size and a good shot for goal. At best you could get a decent 3rd tall at either end but most likely his injuries have prevented him from having the development he needed to be an AFL standard player.
I can't say I am an expert on Dean Towers. Drafted first round 2012(two years in the system), played one game which is weird given that he is a mature age draft pick. I read in another thread that his form in NEAFL as been average at best but I have no first hand knowledge about this, What do you think are his strength and weaknesses and his capacity of development. Why isn't he getting played at AFL level, given that you were giving games to Rookies in the Finals last year why wasn't he considered then?
I wanted switch of 3 and 4 round pick cause I wanted to "win" the trade, most likely is would be a straight swap. A swap of 3 round picks might end up disadvantaging Geelong by the end of the year

Can I grab your thoughts on a trade of bellchambers and pears for boyd or patton from gws.Massive upside to belly to support mumford and a goal kicker and a defender that would 100% be in there starting 22 for years to come.I would say it would be a win for both parties

Zero chance of happening. Pears is worth a bag of potatoe chips. No one would trade anything of value to get him.
They have Giles to play the role that Bellchambers would, and even if the needed Bellchambers he isn't worth a pick 1.

If 5 was too much we would probably look at another pick or players to be included. Although GWS would probably want 5 for him alone
They would like players however as history has shown clubs aren't prepared to give many players up for them or players don't want to go
