Trade hypotheticals

Too far. AFAIC given they're both on contract and are young and have shown promise Top 10 picks for both would be the amount taken to get them.
Gary Rohan? Not sure we (the lions) have enough to play with to get Mitchell in that case.

Pick 4 for Gary Rohan and Sam Reid?

My issue is I'd personally rate Reid around pick 8-12, so giving pick four means needing something extra - not sure the trade puzzle fits at this point in time.

Aah misread it.

In that case, think it depends on who said "fringe player" actually is.
True.

Mitchell is too much. Membry?

EDIT: actually that's probably not enough. I think you'd be better to offer a second and fringe for Reid rather than the other way around.

What use would Sydney have for a Brisbane fringe player, when the whole point of this hypothetical argument is that Sydney have too many players and need to lose some?

Yeah you're right. I can't see how a trade involving read to Brisbane could happen at all. I was just throwing up hypotheticals.

If Brisbane offer pick 4 Sydney don't have too many middle tear fringe 22 players that I think would be enough to bump up the offer.
If Brisbane offer a second they dint have enough talent to give to get Reid.

Probably a late 2nd/early 3rd sort of thing, though if he did nominate Freo we probably won't get much more than a 3rd rounder.

One thing that might drive his price up is a potential bidding war.
Maybe, because Clancee Pearce isnt getting a game maybe a straight swap? Clancee Pearce for Tim Membry?

Maybe, but not really sure what Pearce adds to us other than good depth.

What does Membry add to you besides good depth?
At this stage? You're right, not much. May be good for future insurance, but that'll be another 3-4 years before he's worthwhile lol.

Not really my point though.

Yeah I know what you mean. What's the point in doing a trade that won't give you any benefit.

In saying that, Clancee is pretty versatile so he could really play anywhere. Maybe plays forward to allow Jack to play more midfield. Seems to be playing forward a bit (or is that just me). Not sure who he'd displace from the side I saw last night though.

Not a bulldogs or Giants fan, but think this trade could be decent for both parties. What do you guys think? Obviously Bulldogs would have to re-sign Higgins first.

Boyd and Higgins for Patton

Boyd and Higgins for Patton and O'Rourke

Not sure GWS would like that. Might need to thrown in a 1st and 2nd rounder too.

Higgins can leave for free and Boyd's old, don't see why GWS would do that.

Deledio for Shiel + Whiley?

After second thought, take away O'Rourke and it's more fair.

Boyd has been one of the Dogs' best this year. Even though he is reaching the end of his career, I think he could offer something to the GWS list in terms of leadership and experience.

He can in the short term but because of that his value is low.

IMO Deledio will play well into his 30s has been very durable.
if GWS think he can play 5+ years then perhaps there could be some swap of picks in your favour.

That is very tempting but you go to jail for stealing so we won't do that to the Doggies.

Maybe the Hawkers could swap Gunston for that pair??

Same same??

Sydney to get James Frawley to replace the aging Richards and Grundy in free agency.

Sydney to trade Mitchell to Melbourne for pick 3 and Reid to Bulldogs for pick 6 and Jetta to Freo for pick 17.

swans will get the player they want, salary cap relief, 3 first round picks to go with Isaac Heeney.

apparently wce are inquiring about some rucks at hawthorn

makes me think lycett looks like going. what would port/crows give up for him?

I'm guessing WCE want Lowden?

Port would give up a 2nd rounder for Lycett but the problem is it might be slight unders. (1st rounder is too much)
If we trade Butcher to the Bulldogs for a 2nd or 3rd rounder it might give us something to work with.

Lycett would have to be worth a pick between 16-25.

Sydney may be keen to help out Mike Pyke for a couple of years before taking over. Swap for Lewis Jetta.

Why would GWS trade a 10 year power forward for a 30 year old and an injury prone 26 yr old flanker?
