Interested to what both Hawk and Saint supporters think of-

Mitch Hallahan, Sam Grimley and the Hawks 3rd draft pick to the Saints for Nathan Wright and the Saints 2nd draft pick.

lol wat

Maybe Douglas, Lyons and pick 10

For Toumpas and their Frawley comp pick.

You want Toumpas (late first rounder value) and pick 3/4 (frawley compensation) for douglas (worth 18-25 ), lyons (worth 40+, steaknives)...and pick 10....you will be robbing Melbourne blind!

Disagree, Toumpas is very much like our young fella O'Rourke. Highly rated but has failed to live up to expectations. Whilst Dom Tyson was still able to yield a high draft pick he had legitimate excuses for not being a permanent fixture with a lot of injury dramas whilst with us.

O'Rourke has just been disappointing and whilst I suspect we would love to get a first rounder for him, on his own I reckon he might be a second rounder. At least in O'Rourke's case he has a crack group of young midfielders he is fighting with to get a game

Toumpas has been extremely disappointing. He did have a major hip surgery and maybe he hasn't come up from it but he just looks flat and very average. In a really poor team he can't even crack it for a game in spite of having one of the best coaches in the game trying to assist him.

I think he needs to go back home to SA and if they get a 2nd rounder or a swap that would be a good result.

I totally disagree. He is two yrs into his career. It would be very poor business on MFC behalf to buy high & sell low after such a short time period.

You obviously run the risk that his stocks could fall further but personally I wouldn't entertain the prospect of trading him back home for a 2nd round pick (approx picks of adel #28 & port #34), that is clearly under selling Toumpas value

I don't think Adelaide would hesitate to trade their first rounder for Toumpas.
Undoubted talent & would compliment their midfield nicely.
Toumpas was a much more highly rated junior than O'Rourke but I think you're underselling them both ATG. Reckon you might squeeze out a late fist rounder or equivalent upgrade for O'Rourke. Obviously it all depends on how other clubs view their potential/attitude/development etc.

Would be worth more than a second rounder surely.

If Melbourne only wanted our second rounder for him I'd give it in a second.

Would a Carlton consider a trade of Garlett for say a hardingham or a Pears,Would love the pace on a wing or halfback if winder retires.

Garlett will be returning to WA if/when he leaves, he wouldn't want to go to another Vic club (from what i am led to believe)

If you want a pacy winger, I would consider a Kane Lucas for Pears trade, if you threw in your 3rd rounder as well :)

These days unless you're doing what Wines, Macrae or O'meara are doing by coming in and making an immediate impact people seem to think you're a bust.

Our own supporters did it with Stringer after 10 games, it's ridiculous. Toumpas is still going to be a very good player if he develops right.

What do we have to offer to get him to our club?

Your first round pick ! :D

Seriously, I think the club will let him go cheaply to the Eagles, on compassionate grounds, a 3rd rnd pick and/or an Eagles fringe player is about the best i can hope for ..

No one wants to go to the dogs, it's the harsh but true reality.

Barry Hall, Jason Akermanis, Stewart Crameri in the past few years or so... But thanks for showing your ignorance, nice of you to play....

Our third round may be required for Waterman IMO.
What have we got players-wise that would suit you?
We have Ash Smith? Perhaps Fraser McInnes? Maybe Adam Carter?
We don't really have any other players outside of those.

I just wish we could attract the calabria of players Richmond do.

Just stars like Troy Chaplin and Bachar houli. Very envious that we just pick up scraps like Brownlow medalist Jason Akermanis, and a premiership captain in Barry Hall.

Not even close to a realistic trade.

I'll keep Toumpas thanks
Pick 4. Done SFA since he got there. Been hurt a few times and now can't get out there for Casey. Has a few people in front of him now too.

I reckon the kid can play but im curious as to what a realistic value on him is. He is contracted till end 2015 so Melbourne has all the ammo.

What would it take?

It is my opinion that no one wants to go to to the dogs?

Then your opinion would differ from guys like Aker, Hall and Crameri. All actual AFL footballers (two of particular note) instead of just some random internet mug.

This is why I was curious to his real market value. Not talking a bag of chips BS BF deal but at some point a Rd1 pick has to lose value. The question is how much… O'Rourke the same but I know less about him…

If Garlett tells Carlton he wants to head back home I think you'd pretty much get him for nothing. Don't know that Freo would be interested

Don't know if he'd be that interested.
Would clearly be third in the pecking order for small forwards at Fremantle while being no. 1 choice for us.

I think you are way over rating Toumpas current value.

Under contract for starters and he is worth a late first rounder, I mean heck
Tambling got a priority pick trade and I know who I have more confidence in making it. It isn't that you want Toumpas it is the fact you want pick
4 on top of it!

As I previously posted buying high & selling low isn't an option I'd imagine MFC would entertain for a 2nd yr player that is in contract.

Toumpas is predominantly an outside player that should be a 'finisher'. Melbourne certainly don't have many of these players & as such he is more valuable to us then I'd imagine anyone may be willing to give up.

In short, I think it would have to be a top 10 pick to entertain the trade or a young (u/23) quality player.

On exposed form, both options would be paying well over market value for Toumpas & why it will never occur.
