Trade hypotheticals

Would a 3rd rounder do it for North for Aaron Mullet? Seems to be out of favour at North as Atley is playing the same role. Another decent runner with pace in the back line, with defensive skills, may mean that we can shove Deledio further up the ground and have a decent replacement for Newy or Morris.

Lol. We'll wait until we can get him for nothing... Thanks.

Hawthorn would trade, but you wouldn't get open market value with him being a free agent next year.

Just so I can clear this up, I was laughed at on the tigers board for saying that the supposed trade was a joke "Ben Griffiths and a 3rd rounder for Hayden Crozier and a first rounder" that's taking the piss right?
Even the first rounder alone would be stretching it...

Call me biased but I think late 1st. Don't want to trade him.

I would like to know what is Ziebell's trade value?

I really hope so.

Quality KPP's with experience of 50-80 games come at a premium. Griffiths currently has neither.

Ziebell for me is worth around pick 7 - 8, but Melbourne would possibly consider trading their first round compo for him potentially. Particularly if Roos continues his trade in philospophy which is highly likely.

Calling it. Bias. Wold probably net you a mid 2nd at best.

Ziebell's difficult. Is quality, has more scope but breaks down. Probably place him I to 8-14 range

At the moment Mulletts your 23rd or 24th best player and he's worth a 1st round pick. How come you haven't won all your games with a percentage of 300% with the premiership in the bag? So yes I'd say a little biased.

Ziebell would more likely be the mid to late first rounder mainly because he is injury prone at the moment (this sometimes changes with age as he seems to get more contact instead of soft tissue injuries) and he is still inconsistent. He also doesn't break games open on a regular basis. Looks good when he does but doesn't do it often enough.

Ben griffiths if he does decide to leave what's he worth?
Probably a mid-late second rounder, or something in that vicinity. Has nice attributes but hasn't put it all together yet and has been on the list for a while now. Hasn't been able to step up and get games consistently over Vickery, who, while I think cops undeserving flak at times, isn't anything special as a player.

I get what your saying. But griff most of his rfc career has been played out of position hardwick loves playing players down back to work on there defensive game. Personally I'd rather keep him after Fridays game I think he will have a breakout year next

Yeah, I can see that side of it. I've been a big fan of Griffiths and have been tracking his progress for a few years now, so I would love seeing him in Dogs colours - but he should definitely be retained if Richmond can do so. Think he's got a lot to offer you guys and I still think he'll be a very decent player with a bit more time and experience under his belt. In terms of trade value you'd get offers but nothing overly high in my opinion; would be pretty surprised if you managed to net a first rounder or even a low-end second rounder. Definitely worth more to keep from my perspective.

Mitchell in 2?? Burgoyne, Hodge Sewell? All likely to retire before Roughead who we have Gunston and OBrien who will be perfectly capable of filling the role.

We need inside mids with class.... Can't think of a better one available right now

Despite the fact he's completely unavailable, has bought a pub with Tex Walker and Sloaney, has bought a house with his girlfriend, loves his teammates and team ...

He is as likely to leave as Hodge was.

Apparently has 3 better offers then ours. Saints and dogs were into him last year could be again but I'd rather keep him. If you asked me a month ago I would say he was gone. After Fridays game and the way he was hugging the coach he looked like he wants to stay who knows.

I'll cop that, but you need to overpay when the team doesn't want to get rid of him. Having said that, mid 2nd is more accurate

That's really interesting. No offence intended of course, but outside your top 5-8 sort of players there aren't a lot of guys that should be gobbling up cap space; considering your quest to find some forward support has been ongoing for a few years now you'd think Griffiths would be a guy you'd be happy to give a little bit extra to. I find it hard to believe there'd be teams offering so much that you'd be unprepared to match. A strange one. Think you're just playing hardball, or do you doubt you can afford to pay him what he's requesting?

Well it's all speculation I don't have inside contacts at the club like others on our board. But I think we have front ended most of our deals. And in the next few years we have jack, cotch, and dusty coming out of contract. Also Dan Richardson has basically said we will not overpay. So the whole Martin off season of last didnt change that fact and he signed for under what he wanted
