If he left, he would do so knowing that he was going to get picked up like Tippet did, if he leaves its because he's getting a too good to refuse contract increase.

The compensation picks are not transparent. If a player after an AA year got a 3 year contract at 500k a year, I reckon it would be a band 1 compensation pick.

The fact he blew a hammy wouldn't affect the compensation. If anything, it might turn clubs of and he will stay

You don't need to keep mentioning his possible AA as it means nothing. It's contract-based compensation.
Anyway Frawley could go band 1 or 2. To put it in perspective he's got 3-4 more years left than Malceski and will be paid more per year. Malceski won't be offered a straight 3 year deal at 500k when he's 30 years old and has a history of injuries. It's delusional to think you could get more than an end of 2nd round pick. You'd be lucky to even get that much.

Honestly we will offer him a contract. I cant see him gambling his career on the PSD. In my opinion he will go in either a trade or as a free agent. If he doesnt go in either, I reckon he will stay.

We have enough "former" All Australian '30+ year old' half back flankers, not interested.

Forward paying currently contracted players earlier in their contract opening up cash for free agent plays in 2-3 years time is the Saints strategy here. A 30 year old "former AA" half back flanker won't change that.

St.Kilda would rather pick up a young fringe player from GWS/GC for their rebuild, rather than taking a player with a couple of years left. I don't see what the point would be of shifting out Dal Santo, Goddard and McEvoy only to waste pick 1 PSD for an ageing flanker. Fisher, Gilbert and Dempster are all Australian ageing flankers who are on our list btw.

Mitch clarke wants back in the afl. If he does come back demons might want to force a trade to get something back. What would he be worth and what would your club give up for him? I could see any ckub needing a kpf having a dig at him. But might go back to W.A? Freo would have to be box seat?
