Trade hypotheticals

Potential trades for the dogs:

Higgins walks, receive pick 26.
Trade pick 25 to GWS for Jaksch.
Trade pick 26 to Essendon for Bellchambers.

What would the dogs get if they shopped Minson around. Surely clubs like Port, Richmond and Collingwood would pay overs if he were on offer?

Mitch clarke wants back in the afl. If he does come back demons might want to force a trade to get something back. What would he be worth and what would your club give up for him? I could see any ckub needing a kpf having a dig at him. But might go back to W.A? Freo would have to be box seat?
I'd give our third. He'll just walk if Melbourne play hardball

Apparently wants to stay in Melbourne. If that's the case Western Bulldogs, Carlton, Essendon, Collingwood would be the ones into him.

Nah, we have no ruck depth, why would we trade a contracted best 22 ruckman in that situation?

I figured he was out of favour and could be easily lured a la Crameri.

I dont think melbourne would go hard at all. They would already be delisting him anyway. I wouldnt have thought he would be that expensive so a third looks on the ball. Been out of the system for a while and injury prone. What were you guys originally offering him a couple of years back?

If you listen to the rumors then Ryder is going and there is no one behind TBC. Not only that but when he's been fit he's been best 22 for us. Played in the final last night. Contracted and required player. No way he gets pried out unless you're willing to pay overs or TBC wants to leave.

I think we offered pick 16. Not sure about cash, but we would give him considerably less this time around

He can't walk, he's under contract. Unless we trade him he can't play anywhere else until 2016.

If we had a 2nd pick I'd trade it and Howlett for him, but since we don't...

Mmm fair enough!

Are you still paying him? How does it work now that he has retired?

After the Mal Michael "retirement" there were some rules put in place. I believe he can't just come back whilst he would have been contracted at another club. If there was some clean air at the end of the contract he's a delisted player.

Right now he's 100% still on our list.

If Melbourne delists Clark, his options would then depend on the terms of his release that were negotiated in April:

If he did not retire then he could become a delisted free agent and be picked up by a club of his choice.

Looks like Melbourne holds to keys unless the above situation occurs. Unlikely.

And that could only happen if we delisted him, which now we won't.

There is nothing (quote based) in that article to say that he won't be at the Dee's next year.

If Hawthorn traded with GWS , what would Hill be worth ? Or Smith or Langford ( both NSW boys ) ? Or even Rioli ?
Seems like GWS has a few victorian kids wanting to come back home .
As a Hawks supporter I would really hate to lose any of those mentioned players , but if hypothetivcally i could get 2 promising
home sick GWS players for 1 of them , i might do that deal .

Think the dogs would be into Clark big time however get the feeling if he won't return to Melbourne he will want to got o a club in finals/premiership contention such a Collingwood.
What is in the fine print of the agreement from Apil will be interesting. I doubt Melbourne will be keen to let him walk to a club of choice for nothing. Clubs may be resistant to part with too much though given his injury history.

If that's the case it narrows it down to Essendon, North, Hawthorn and Geelong. Collingwood are going into rebuild mode I think.

Melbourne can trade him.

Buldogs, Carlton, Collingwood, Fremantle are the four clubs who are crying out for key forward. Would not surprise me at all if Collingwood picked him up, and they played Reid back all year.

Apparently Essendon and Saints were reported as the clubs on SEN. Puts the non-rebuild clubs theory out the window. Althoug Collingwood in re-building somewhat I still think they are in finals contention next year with the quality on the list.

Imagine a forward line with Ryder, Daniher and Clark all in there.
