Trade hypotheticals

Haha whatever
Lester is a young leader at the club. Not only is he a good player, he is important to the culture and trading him would be a major mistake.

I disagree. It's pretty much the Judd deal without Kennedy and that's pretty fair for Beams. Hes not as good as Judd was
That's not even close to the judd deal... It was judd for Kennedy pick 3 and pick 20, so you're off by the trade value of Josh kennedy in his prime...Beams is easily worth an early first rounder plus a late first rounder, no question.

If he wanted to go home and his contract was to expire in a years time, then I would say yes.

If you were the list manager and agreed to that move it would see you out of a job pretty quickly, IMO. It's a crazy Vossy type move...

Rockliff is a star and I'd be comfortable giving Kennedy plus 4 to get him in that situation (Kennedy's not a good fit for us IMO), but Sinclair would be my ambit claim.

Not sure about that. The ACL makes things interesting. Assuming there is no complications, he's missing almost the entirety of next year and will probably take the majority of the season after to get back to top form. He'll be 27ish before he gets back to his best. Would you take pick 5 and 18 for a 27 year old mid with most likely only 2-3 seasons of top end football left in him by that stage. Not an easy decision but you'd have to seriously consider where you list will be placed, especially if it requires you to meet a hefty contract from opposition clubs.
are you joking or?...

Pick 5 and 18 is an early and a late first rounder.

And what your saying is wrong. Judd was traded in 2007, at which point Kennedy had played 22 games averaging 0.5 goals a game. That's not his prime.

I said pick 5 and 18, that's the same value as 3 and 20. Josh Kennedy was a top 5 pick key forward, of course he was gonna take time to develop, and his value easily makes up for the difference between Beams and Judd.

All excited to talk about a maybe in 12 months time, yep
Not a maybe. It's a sure thing!!!

I would probably think that Beams is probably worth about what Hawks paid for Burgoyne. I think that was two first rounders. 5 and 18 would be close to it, maybe a little overs.

I guess a top 4 pick and a player who will be in your best 22 for the next decade or so is a pretty rubbish offer, eh. :drunk:
Would you like me to mention all the previous pick 4s from 2003 onwards? :) Anyways, we trade Beams, who is number 2 at both Collingwood and Brisbane for pick 4 and someone who struggled to get a game at Brisbane this year?? sounds about right to me :D

Pick 9 and Mark Williams who had a degenerate knee issue. The Burgoyne trade was very complicated.

Lol. Pick 4 doesn't mean you are going to draft a dud player. It's how good your recruiting team is. If everyone implemented your method of madness, should Brisbane trade out their pick 4 for pick 7, as a result of the quality of player that is available at that selection. NO! :drunk:

Well it wouldn't matter how good Brisbane's recruiting team is, kids will all go home at some stage, you guys might as well not participate in the national draft at all

I wouldn't take Geelong's first pick for Selwood if I was West Coast. They need midfielders, they shouldn't trade out one of their best ones.
Well you're not WC….. so SHHHHHH! :D

But we will take Minson from you for a year..:p

Go Catters
