Say GWS get 18 (O'Rourke), 21 (compo), 26 (Jaksch) and 30 (Frost) - any chance say 21, 26 & 30 would be upgraded to a mid/low teens pick?
Only have Hunt and Gilham retiring, plus those 3 + Giles. I assume they need to cut their list back again.
Brisbane showed last year that 20-30 picks are extremely useful. Could be a win-win for any club looking for a quantity injection of new talent, and for GWS to get right back in the draft again.

I wasnt having a go, I was simply saying that surely they'd be demanding more money.
If you signed them last year, surely theres a very large proportion of your cap thats locked away (bud, tip, jack, ken, hann).
I see you'll have the money to sign someone given that you'll have a few retirees, but surely the flexibility is going to be reduced if you keep signing stars on big money.

Yep. The amounts that the retirees release in the next few years would mostly be absorbed by the contracts coming through. On the plus side, the increase in over TPP gives us a small amount of room to breath

But you see it matters what colour jumper theyre wearing - you think Priddis would've won the brownlow at Hawthorn, Sydney, Freo, or heck even Collingwood?
Pretty easy to score votes for the gold coast...especially with Ablett out, theres very little competition.
Crouch has some pretty handy competition for votes, especially when Dangerfield is getting all these votes he doesnt deserve.
Crouch will be the better player, revisit this in 3-4 years time.
Theres a reason he was 2nd to O'Meara in the rising star only playing half a season.

Injuries held him back! Don't bother mentioning his name if you don't want to pay the price. Dom Tyson wasn't playing full time footy for GWS and he commanded a fair bit

He hasnt been injured for weeks....he played in your side 2 weeks ago and dominated.
Now I know you've got a lot of his type, or he doesnt fit in the structure, but unfortunately for you guys that reduces his trade value somehwat.

I suppose. However, there is this assumption that there is no space for him in next years side. He would be anywhere between our best 24-14 next year and would be remiss of us to trade him.
The pick 6 tag on him is high as firstly he doesn't want to be trade, secondly swans don't want to trade him and thirdly his potential on exposed for (20 plus at AFL level) demonstrate that he can cut it at AFL level. Hence why the higher price

Each to their own on whether to stay or go.
In saying that, the trade moves that have been floated ie the most likely clubs eg Carlton, Melbourne are not near success IMO. He has far more chance of career success at swans.
Yes, even in though he is currently in the second. Hopefully a flawless preseason will see him in the team again

I guess the issue is if he is certain of a spot next season.
If not, I'm sure he wouldnt want to stall his development further by spending more time in the NEAFL.

This is something Essendon for one will look at, downgrade their pick 19 for 2 picks in the 20's or even another side. Essendon are the obvious ones. Gives them another pick in a similar sort of range anyway. 19 + steaknives (if need) for 26 + 30 (would probably need some serious steaknives to get 21 though.

Mitchell is not going anywhere. Longmire has stated that he is best 22 when fit. He hasnt been in the side mainly all year due to injuries. When he has come in he doninated. Why did craig bird come in for mitchell for the finals? Because as a coach I probably would go for experience and longevity. Craig bird proved all season he deserves a spot in the team and hes played finals before.

His lack on continuous football counts strongly against him when compared to a settled side

If Sydney don't get overs for him they'll keep him, play him in 15-20 games next year and let him show how dominant he can be, and then convince him to stay or trade him then. They certainly won't give him up for anything less than what he's worth.
