If GWS want the 1st pick, Saints should request Plowman, Tomlinson and 2nd rnd pick.

Picks 5 and 14 to collingwood
Just bizarre trading. Two first eighteen players both with ten plus years to go for one unknown -jack watts tom scully nic natuniai Richard tambling Matthew kreuzer BryceGibbs all are top draft picks. In the system just plodded.
I've never forgotten that Roos was willing to offer 6 and 14 to the tigers for dustin Martin. And you know what - Martin is a good player. But jetta and rohan are serious talents, and I would never do a 2 for 1 deal of this nature. You know what you are losing and it is still speculative what you are getting.
Carlton's Pick #7 + Jeff Garlett to Melbourne for Pick #3 (Frawley Compo).
Would allow us a shot at whoever is left of McCartin/Wright/Petracca and would allow Melbourne more 'bang for their buck' by adding a Best 22 player whilst still having access to a good kid at Pick #7.
They did something similar last year with GWS (allowing them to get Tyson and moving down 6 spots).

Dreaming. Garlett is worth almost nothing, especially to a team like melbourne.

Just because we will (more than likely) have pick 3 doesn't mean it's worth less because we have another top 3 pick.Different landscapes.
You still would have Pick #2, #7 + Garlett in this setting
As opposed to Tyson + Pick #9.

I agree that Garlett + #7 wouldn't be enough to secure Pick #2 by itself, but given the Frawley compo is basically "a bonus" - could see how Melbourne would want to get the most out of it.
You said it yourself. Melbourne could do much better than Garlett in a deal involving Pick 3
Dusty>Jetta and Rohan
Here's the thing. GWS know full well what it takes to get pick 1, as they have been putting pick 1 on the table previously and presumably demanding a hell of a lot for it, so they will know that if they really want it this year they will have to put up the sort of deal that they were demanding and not receiving in previous years.
Thing is though, they can afford to pay that sort of price, while other clubs that haven't been given the Earth as start-up concessions haven't been able to in recent years.
People musnt value our players much. Without jetta no flag 2012.
Jetta this year less obvious but to my mind more damaging. He has just been amazing in traffic.
True Rohan is only just starting to show something after leg shattered Nathan brown like. So perhaps he is steak knives at the moment. But his last seven weeks very very good (apart from first half freo - where it was really one bad kick)
Watch a lot of Martin. Super player. More inside outside and brutal strength wise. Very hard to tackle. But he still shanks some kicks and defensively he just plods.
If you play in a better team, its a lot easier to get a kick than in a weaker team, so if that's developing quicker then I agree.I rate Sydney's list extremely highly, in fact I think your list is the most talented by quite a margin.
Replace Jetta with dusty in 2012 and I think you win the flag more easily. He would've developed much faster at sydney and the bloke was built for finals.
Hope GWS will make sure Petracca won't ask to come home in a couple of years time if they're selling the farm to get pick 1.
Garlett's goal return over the past four seasons would mean he is easily in their 22 so not sure how you can claim he is worth "almost nothing to Melbourne".
Melbourne move down four spots (while still keeping their #2 pick), they are merely maximizing their free hit for Frawley.

Everyone seems focussed on the top tier, ill try a lower tier 3 way
Aaron Mullett + Norths 4th round pick -----> Pies![]()
Josh Thomas + Pies 3rd round pick -----> Bullies![]()
Liam Jones -----> North![]()
Pies get a lumumba replacement, Bullies get a contested ball mid and low pick, North get a KPP they want.
Thoughts?
