McDonald could be replaced by Gwilt or Frost etc.

O'Rourke is a pick number 2 who has two years of development in him and the Pies also get pick 20 - So Pies get a close to ready to go midfielder. GWS get pick 4 and a small pick downgrade on their compo pick (pick 20). Brisbane give up their 1st and 2nd rounds picks.

Last year a very similar trade was done involving Dom Tyson as the player. I wouldn't think Douglas is equal in worth to Tyson.

The only players Melbourne would want would be a Sloane/Dangerfield type for those picks 2/3. That said Douglas + 9 for pick 3 could be the sort of ball park, or another solidish midfielder.

Mid to late 2nd round I would've thought (picks 30-45).
Contracted but only useful for teams who think they will be competing in the next 3-4 years.

He has stated that he prefers playing back. Whether that would have any bearing on Fremantle's discussions I don't know. I suspect having a reasonable player shoring up your backline would be helpful with McPharlin still undecided regarding next year (which will almost certainly be his last).
