Swans fans, any interest in Todd Elton? Pick 26 2011 draft, currently a KPD, tried him as a forward for a few years but he was moved into defence this year and came into some good form. Got a massive frame on him, and a great contested mark. Set shot kicking is awful, field kicking okay though.

I reckon a straight swap for Membrey would be a win-win. Thoughts?

Not the worst deal. Maybe a token pick swap in the fourth on top?

Why would he go to the cats or Hawks and not the pies? The pies with pick 7 plus whatever they get for Beams are the only club, along with Melbourne, that have the currency to get Danger
Are you assuming Moore is used as a 2nd rounder?

I cant see Carlton not wanting him at 6.

So Pies have the currency if they can get moore at 2nd round but not so if they can only get him at pick 8.

Do North need a big defender? If so:

Brisbane
Merrett, 4/5, 24 for Beams, Pies' 3rd

North
Merrett, 24 for 15/16

Collingwood
Beams, 3rd for 4/5, 15/16

Do North need a big defender?

We've re-signed Grima for another year, and the club is hopeful that Tarrant & Delaney's injury woes are behind them, highly doubt we'll be making a play for a defender now.

Brisbane
Lose: Pick 4, Patful, Pick 41
Gain: Beams, Pick 55

Pies
Lose: Beams
Gain: Greenwood, Pick 4

Kangas
Gain: Pick 18
Lose: Greenwood

Sydney
Gained: Patful, pick 41
Lose: Pick 18, Pick 55

* Or something similar

Lions... Get Beams, Patful gets his wish to go to Sydney
Swans... Get a top quality lockdown defender capable on playing on the Gunstans...a late pick upgrade because of patfuls age
Pies... Get pick 4 and a seasoned top quality player they want
Kangas... "If" Greenwood walks should be happy to get a decent pick back. Preference for them is obviously to keep him

9 and 29?...

Pies will most likely roll over and take pick 4, the Lions may throw in a sweetner, but thats about it.

It would be a horrible look for the Pies as a Club by not releasing Beams to be closer to his father. With that said, they could if they wanted to screw the Lions and try and deal with GCS.

We wont be rolling over on a contracted player holding a gun to our head. Thats why we hav given them until friday to come up with an offer.

Then we will start dealing with GC, his father lives on the gold coast afterall

He was a pick 7, and has proven he can play at the level, so they deserve more than pick 9 for him
Lose value as soon as they are drafted. It takes more than a year to increase past what they were drafted at

This demonstrates how draft picks become overrated. The only way you could argue that a player who has contributed as well to his team as Aish did in 2014 has lost value in a year is if this year's draft is considered to be markedly stronger at the top end than last year's. I've heard no-one suggest that to be the case.

Not always, im sure after one year Bonti and Taylors pick stocks would rise if they were shopped around based on their original picks.
I suppose that true.

I dont know. I wouldn't trade 9 and 29 for Aish because I haven't heard any big wraps on him. Not like Bonti and Taylor. But maybe I'm wrong
