Trade or Draft?

Word on the street (yep, I'm a gangster), is that the Cats weren't exactly super keen with Jordan Bourke during his VFL stint(s) down there.

Not sure how many games he played at the Cattery, but I guess that would explain why I've seen him in the Suns NEAFL team in the past few weeks? Certainly getting a few games for our seconds team. If you include the Redland Bombers game, I think that's 3 in a row he's played for us.

Still a chance to get picked up by Geelong of course, but we might be seriously looking at him through a Zone selection if we have played him this much.

Also to confirm, Nahas isn't likely going anywhere.

Mitch Brown could be seeking a trade from WCE too, though they're desperate to hold onto him, obviously with Hurn not having many years left.

And lastly, Bret Thornton from the Blues could be on his way out.

That info picked up from Jay Clarke from the HS. In other words, you can probably take the Nahas and Thornton info pretty strongly.

But the interstate info be a little sceptical on. ;)

Hurn is only 24. His hairline however tells a different story.

The Crows board is going into melt down as one of their own has stated he has inside info that Kurt has already signed with us.

Does this all of a sudden make the Rishitelli going rumour and freeing up his wage starts to look like a possibility?

Already signed ?? might have to go and see this for myself , be back soon lads.

This is pretty much the Kurt stuff in a nutshell, which A FEW GOOD MEN is quite confident about. 100% confident, he comes across as.

Quoted from another Crows poster.

AFGM's story on this has been malleable depending on what obvious argument flying in the face of such an agreement has been put to him.

The theory is that GC and Tippett have entered into a contract, a condition precedent of which is Tippett actually getting to GC under player movement rules. And that separately, the Crows, Gold Coast, and Tippett came to a vague agreement outside of Tippett's AFC playing contract in 2009 that the Crows would trade Tippett at the end of his contract for either:

1. The compensation the Crows would have got from the AFL if Tippett was signed as an uncontracted player; or
2. Fair compensation; depending on which page of the thread you are reading.

And that the Crows are now faced with a choice of abiding by the terms of that agreement (whatever the hell they are), or facing the repercussions of reneging on a deal that nobody knows exactly what it is.

I'm not saying AFGM is lying (more likely is being fed incorrect or incomplete information), but his story doesn't add up imo.

Edit: And most importantly, even if AFGM's mail is absolutely spot on, Tippett still doesn't have a binding contract with GC and would be well within his rights to change his mind and sign for Adelaide instead. It might be a window into his intentions, but it doesn't necesesarily mean it's all over.

The following likely to be gone:
Weller
Jolly
Toy
Rischitelli
Brown & Brennan trade bait
Caddy 50/50

Tippett likely

Make of it what you will nothing is certain because nothing is certain as yet.Have a source but can't reveal publicly. I don't post regularly but often have info I hold back due to the request for sources.

Haha Gov, welcome back, long time no see!

The fact that you call Brown and Brennan trade bait but none of the others in the same category does not mean the rest are being straight out delisted, does it? ;)

Thanks NSD ;) I have to keep going back to get my password off an old computer so I read more often than post - you guys do a great job!! Does Sunny ever sleep?

The ones I have listed have value and may be part of trade negotiations. The number of players moved on is likely to be at least 10

The figure i'm getting back is an exact 10 on the nose. Can not see how that can be an exact figure though, if true that Caddy has still not decided and Tippett is not a certainty in either way.

Also last I heard was Mav was looking forward to Arizona, however wouldn't be the first time a player expects to be at a club the following year only to be told bad news 15 minutes before the public do :p

Mav had a contract knocked it back - wanted 1 year to see if he could cement his spot. If he stays I'd say it will be a short deal, my mail is he's gone.

Yeah pretty much what I have. Was offered the one year extension, but felt he could prove himself more. Would be a shame if he went, although I think he will get a gig somewhere else. Has definitely shown his worth in the latter half of the season once they have finally given him a string of games together

It was only an opinion from someone very close to the club so I would take Brown being offered up as simply an opinion. I questioned it as well as his season has been quite good.

Is Caddy really 50/50? Comments from him regarding Arizona from the Brown Dog have me feeling a bit more bouyant about that situation. But I also hear that he still genuinely appears to be undecided, despite the girlfriend settling and all that jazz.

PM me if you know something tawp sekrit! ;)

Of course. I didn't mean to harp all over ya, Gov! Just thought I'd share my own thoughts. You're (from what I remember) usually pretty accurate about club activities.

I've gotta say I enjoy reading sunny and co posts on here theyare both knowledgable and passionate. Thanks guys.
Do u think u would be looking for a ruckman? What are the ruck stocks like at gc. I heard Tom bellchambers Could be on the move and I wonder...

I reckon Bellchambers will stick around with you guys for a while. Unless a tassie team comes in to the league in the next few years, he won't be wanting to move home. With Hill retiring, him and Ryder will be good for you guys.

We've got a few rucks. With Fraser retiring, we'll have Smith, Hickey, Gorringe, Nicholls, as well as Dixon. Can't see us wanting a ruck, with Fraser being told during the year that he wouldn't be played unless all our rucks were injured.
