whered u hear that rumour? im liking it myself

BigFooty. :D So take it with a huge grain of salt. Like, boulder-sized grain of salt.

But it's probably the closest thing to something I would be likely to see come trade week.

No offence but you are misguided with all your opinions I've read.
Well it is offensive, especially given my career. Not angry though.

I'm not sure how many people would agree with your statement. I'd argue that Dixon would hold probably twice the value of Day on the market, which would vindicate my opinion. But as I said, let's hope they all turn into Premiership players :D

Day is a 20yo pick 3, Dixon is a 22yo zone listed player.

Some of the greatest players in the history of the game started as rookies or late picks. I take your point, but your draft position doesn't guarantee that you'll be an exceptional player.

True, but it guarantees he holds more value on the open market right now as what your discussion was about.

This is just gonna seem like a shit fight given what's happened in the other thread haha but I genuinely like you and have nothing against you, just like discussing this!

I know that we're now talking about what value they'd both hold on the open market. Let's hope we never find out, because I'd love to keep both of them. However, I strongly believe that if, hypothetically, both players were put on the trading block, Dixon would receive more interest from more clubs and command a higher trade value. At a guess, I reckon Dixon could fetch a pick between 6-16 plus a really decent fringe player. I think Day would fetch a 10-20 pick by itself, at absolute best. Happy to be wrong though. What does everyone else think?

Will the suns actually go that deep into the draft #37 ?

Also cant really see Hooker adding anything to the Suns team
He provides another decent sized mature body, which we lack. Interesting though, you'd imagine we'd have to package pick 37 up with something else to move up in the draft or for another singular player. These two for one deals would make our 8 delistings very very difficult.

To end this discussion:

Day is being developed to be our long term chf with Lynch ff. Dixon will be backing up both these guys as well as that 2nd string ruck role. Nothing wrong with that, just shows though dicko ain't quite at the ability of our others mentioned. Love his contested mark and will be a great long term backup. Just not as mobile/athletic.

If Tippett comes in, it could hurt Dixon most as he would play that role as combo fwd/ruck.

I personally think Dixon's days in the forward line (at least for now) are over. At least if Tippett arrives.

With that said, based on what he's shown, I think that he's easily best 22 playing at Full Back, myself. Having someone who has the guts and skill to take a contested mark instead of just punching it away is invaluable. This is what makes him a better option than May at IMO, who just fists everything that comes near him as a defender.

I disagree, as most likely we'll be playing Day, Lynch, and Tippett all in the same forward line? So if the Tippett deal falls through, wouldn't we be doing the same role with Dixon? Full forward/2nd ruckman?

Ok new idea, we need Goddard. I was really hoping when we picked up Brennan he was going to be our utility, mr fix it type player as he can play anywhere on the ground almost with his athletic ability.

Dropped twice now this year, I'd imagine he's got 1 year left? :(

I agree that we do need that 'Mr fix it' type player but personally im not much of a fan of Goddard. Brennan has to go before we put on another similar type aswell.

The more players we shed the more likely we would be to be looking at a big salary pick-up.
True or False?

False. At least I hope it's false.

The more players we shed, the more likely we'll be able to keep our young stars like Bennell, McKenzie, Matera, Swallow etc. when they come out of contract.
