Is there any chance the cats will be active during the trade week. Even swapping a 3rd round pick for somebody?? Damian Adkins from West Coast I think would be worth a punt. Fast, good finisher and would be cheap. Probably better than Koula.

I think we should be active and trade Playfair. What do you think of Playfair as a player Jack?

Huge future. I think we can all jump onto the coat tails of Henry and he can take us all the way to a flag. Make that back to back flags. The only way we would trade Henry is if we got somebody as athletic as him. Reiwoldt or Kosi probably would not be enough. Will be a great leader in the mould of Carey. Oh heck he will be better than Carey. I know its a big call, but he is that good I would give him NO 5.

No one has actually said anything along those lines, they just believed he was playing well and didnt desrved to be bagged. Do you continually pay him out to hide the factyou really dont know much about our team and the game in general?

Maybe we could draft Jade Rawlings to go with our sharp shooters Kingsley and Playfair. That would be a laugh, three guys who can kick playing in our forward line!

Glad to hear that you have finally turned the corner.

I too think Henry is a great talent and think he deserves the number 5 on his back, but should also be promoted to Captain and when we enter the ground we should be entering through the Henry Playfair gate.

I commonly get him confused with Leigh Matthews with his attack on the ball and Wayne Carey with his vise like grip on those overhead marks.

For what it's worth, i honestly think he is a super talent!

I can't win can I. To be honest I have gone away and watched the replays of all our games this year and after he performed so well in the b&f and kicked 50 goals for the year, I am now convinced we have a very good CHF on our hands. The way he single handedly took the game by the scruff of the neck in Sydney just proves how wrong I was all year. Get on the double next year, Henry for the Coleman and Brownlow double. I just love the way he steadies when taking a big grab and goes back and bangs in straight through the centre,....... of the hot dog stand !!!!!

What are you trying to win at? All you do is try and bag posters on here and Playfair by saying ridiculous things that a) People on here have never said, and b) Dont expect of him.

Playfair's not the best player, no one ever said that. But you continually feel you must bring up the fact people have put some faith in him and that he may turn out to fill a role we desperately need filling, without doing it spectacularly.

Simply put, shut the ******** up :)

back to the original train of thought. I think the cats are in the position of needing speed, so a top up player with speed should not be totally discounted. Problem with all the "in system" players is $. A kid from the draft will cost half of a player like Adkins. If they have used to full cap they may have no choice but to draft 3 kids on the min. contract.

The hoff started it.

There is not too many other sides that there 2 worst players in there starting 18 are there full forward and there centre half forward.

p.s. the last word on this until march

All I have ever asked for is for somebody else to be given a chance and that hasn't happened.

Give Lonergan the entire season next year and compare his year to Henry's this year.

And we certainly aint one of them

I agree that with a bit of time Tom Lonergan could be a player, however I think he is more suited to Kents rold of leading forward than Henrys role. He's quick, tall which will make him hard to spoil on the lead and a very nice kick.

Where did Henry finish in the B & F. This is a serious comment.

Nathan Ablett would be a better CHF than Henry is now.

Play him there and let Henry play out of the square if King or Ottens are not in the team.

Kingsley consistently kicks 60 goals a season.

Yeah I know gavin Excell and Danny Delre both kicked 90 once and they were NOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOD, but Kinga can play.

To much of a coincidence that he consistently kicks as many goals as he does.

As for Playfair, I'm with you Jack. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD.

And I'll give you Tivendale for him!!! And some steak knives and a potato peeler.

:)

Do you ever listen? People have told you time and time again. Lets all say it once more.

YOU DON'T PLAY PLAYERS OUT OF POSITION.

Nathan is not a CHF. He is a FF. H would smash him in contested situations around the ground.

Use your brain because you have some very intelligent posts, but some, like the above are utter garbage.

I agree with Jack actually and i hope to god i am wrong but how can we win a flag with Big H at CHF and Kingsley at FF, seriously these twoi just arent up to it, Kingsley kicks his 50+ most years but he doesnt perform in the big games and his attack on the ball is pathetic, just get the Swans game out it really annoys me, Big H gives his all no question but he doesnt have the poise or correct decion making skills under pressure, he always handballs to a teamnate under pressure and he cant kick either, i hope i am proven wrong but my feelings are our tall and key forwards will be our downful again come finals, why will it change from the last 2 yrs

cheers della!

Thanks for the report card mum. I believe you pick your best 22 players and then fit them into positions as best you can. I agree Nathan is not a chf but he is a better one than Henry. When was the last time Henry SMASHED anybody in a contested situation. You talk about this guy like he has dominated games, but he never has. When you watch the Sydney final and you see Kingsley, Gardiner and Playfair all of which were terrible and out of there depth, what do you see that convinces you that any of them have a chance of leading us to the ultimate glory. We will be talking about the same thing for the next 2 final series and you guys will still be bagging me and saying he is only 23 give him a chance. Kent Kingsley for all his good work during the season is as good as useless in big games. How many goals has he kicked in his 4 finals games in the last 2 years. How can we win a flag when none (read it again) None of our forwards have the ability or the confidence to have a shot at goal for 30 metres out. I dream of the day that we can have a forward line without any of these 3 hacks in it.

HF: S Johnson Hawkins Mackie
F : N Ablett Ottens Chapman/G Ablett

Then we are a chance to win something.

p.s. I don't care if you don't like my opinions. I don't like some of yours.

p.p.s. have you given up on fev yet.

:) Ohhhhhhhhhhh Jack!!!

Better to play a forward with no confidence to kick at goal from 30m out than one who can't get a kick at all, so best scrub the name of Ottens from that dream forward line.

I told you in 2002 and again in 2003 and again in 2004, the hype is all about misguided potential.

How many game shas he genuinely taken by the throat of the scruff????

But there is hope I guess. Even Benny Gale turned it around after five or six seasons.

Though think you will find that back of big Ottens is in lot worse condition than your club would have us believe.

As for Kent "Kinga" Kingsley, will be your shout first up when I get to Melbourne this weekend, as he kicked zero to Richo's two in round 22. Round 22 equals Richie Benaud's favourite round!!!!

Remember the name...............Goldust!!!!!!!!! :)

Goldust you will be happy to know I have been banned from the richmond board for suggesting that Greg Tivendale wasn't worth enough to get Andrew Welsh from Essendon. On those lines you might be in trouble on this site soon. Are you coming down friday for your mate fevs wedding ???

No worries on the report card son.

Your post is half correct. You pick your best 22 suited for the positions available. If Matty Scarlett, Matt Egan & Tom Harley all were injured would you take the next 3 best players in your team regardless of the position they played? The answer is no, you would pick the next best available option to hold down the backline. You would not pick 3 midfielders would you? Please tell me you would't!

Unfortunatly, and this is a big UNFORTUNATLY, H is the best option we have for CHF. Nath is not fit enough, nor agyle. Ottens is not a CHF, way too slow, Gardiner is Gardiner and **********ful, Mackie could be if he baulked up, but that won't happen.

I too agree with you that we can't really give the flag a shot with 3 forwards who are scared to kick goals when they get the chance. It frustrates the hell out of me, but we don't any other real options with the exception of Lonergan who IMO is not up to AFL standard yet.

Jack, this is not a personal attack on you, you just sound like a broken record and the whinging is not going to get you/us anywhere. Would'nt it be more productive to look at the positiives in our side instead on constantly raving on about a negative?

Some of your posts are great, not only do the show your real knowledge but i get a good laugh from them, but enough is enough mate.

Cheers

GO CATS

P.S - I have given up on Fev now. When we signed Jimmy, i knew there was no chance that we could target a player on Fev's Talent, however i am very happy that Jimmy is staying.
