Maybe we could trade Jack-Packenham for someone?
You are the guy that said mid year that we should accept nothing else other than a flag and don't ever accept second best. We were the best side in the comp and we were going to destroy everybody.

If you look at West Coast, they are living proof that you can't win a flag with a midfield and no forward line. Having said that there forwards are better than ours. They are now shopping around there forwards in an attempt to improve there list. M Gardiner and MacDougall are better footballers than Playfair and C Gardiner, but West Coast are happy to make a judgement call on both of them and try to improve there list. Don't tell me a team with Cousins, Judd, Kerr and Fletcher dont have salary cap problems.

Sydney have lost a ruckman so what are they doing about it, they are going to get another one. Dont tell me a team who has just won the flag does not have salary cap problems.

Kangaroos are lacking a key defender, so they are going to get one.

St Kilda needed a forward to replace an aging G Train, so they went and got one.

Yet the cats sit back and say we have to do the best with what we have got and just accept it. You have 5 days in the year when you can TRY to improve your list. Bomber has locked our club into a corner by saying after the Ottens trade that the club will never ever trade its 1st pick again. There are 3 or 4 key position types that are expected to go in the top 10 of the draft. TRY packaging our pick 15 with a fringe player or 2 (e.g. Shannon Byrnes) in an attempt to jump into the top 10 and get one of these young prospects.

For the people who say Playfair, Kingsley and C Gardiner are no good and no other team would trade for them, then why have we signed all of them up to long term contracts. Do you think its coincidence that the cats form slumped at about the same time all the players signed up on improved long term contracts.

Whenever I doubt my beliefs, I just watch the Sydney final and cringe every time Gardiner, Kingsley and Playfair go near the ball. The flag was ours for the taking, but we were 2 players short. Ottens will be one of those if injuries don't take hold and Nathan could be the other one, but you have to doubt a guy who had to be convinced over time to play.

Goldust you will be happy to know I have been banned from the richmond board for suggesting that Greg Tivendale wasn't worth enough to get Andrew Welsh from Essendon. On those lines you might be in trouble on this site soon. Are you coming down friday for your mate fevs wedding ???

:) THOUGHT that might be the case. You did appear to overstep the line with some of your comments....hey, but nothing that wasn't warranted and nothing the Tiger followers who frequent that site on a regular basis haven't been saying on a daily basis for six months. Would appear Tivendale has as much support at Tigerland from the fans as Mark Latham at an ALP convention. Myself, would be very much surprised if the Dons agreed to a straight swap, but fingers crossed they do!!! They owe us plenty for Blumfield and Underwood (actually a handy player for us), but then again we gave them the loose cannon in Zantuck (read - career over).

Definitely back on the weekend for my buddy and soon to be teammate's wedding. Surprised the Cats aren't making a play for Fev as they would have substantially more to offer than us. Having said that it is painfully obvious that Carlton want him out, so the longer we hold off, the better bargain basement deal we'll get. Maybe pick 8 and Schulz, pick 8 and Hall, or pick 8 and Chaffey/Newman. No stars among that lot but better than they have. Hall would be the one I would like to keep most. A late blomer and had a good season in 2004. As for the forward line, I suggest with Deledio, Richardson, Pettifer Brown, Fevola, Krakour/Rodan, with Stafford and Simmonds drifting in and out, we may have the potential to be like the Cats of the late 80s and early 90s and boot 20 plus goals a game. But then.....like the Ctas of the late 80s and 90s.....there is THAT backline.

As for poor ol' Henry. Stick to your guns son. You will be proven correct and already have. It's a pity the Cats will be made to pay in the meantime. That forward line won't win you any grand finals - it's as plain as the day is light and the night is long. And I suspect, of the three talls, Kingsley is actually the better of the three. You know my views on Ottens well and they have not changed since 2002 or earlier. That is, unlike my wrestling cousin Goldberg, "Don't believe the hype". He's like a postman in Tanzania - he doesn't deliver often. And the sooner everyone woke up and let go of the fact about what he one day might be and just sat back and conceded the guy is injury prone and in worse shape than anyone wopuld like to believe,, the better.

As for your good self, suggest you do your utmost getting banned from the Freo Dockers site, or perhaps the little known Peel Thunder site. Sure you can find a grip or two there!!!!

Plenty of beers and good health!!!! :)

I have stayed out of bagging you until now

- they lost by under a goal mate, that doesnt prove much I hate to say, and they blitzed most of the competition for most of the year.

Sydney have lost a ruckman so what are they doing about it, they are going to get another one. Dont tell me a team who has just won the flag does not have salary cap problems.
This team also gets an extra 600,000 and without jolly would have freed up around 200-250. So yeah they probably have some room left.

Kangaroos are lacking a key defender, so they are going to get one.
- lol...deal isnt done and lets talk about it in 6 months time!

St Kilda needed a forward to replace an aging G Train, so they went and got one.
- LMFAO you are a GOON!

Settled down kids. Good to see some passion about the club.

Getting a top CHF is tough.

All i will say is think of these 2 names.

NATHAN ABLETT and TOM HAWKINS

In 3 years every club will be salivating about these 2 players in a forward line.

Patience my friends.

Children, listen to these wise words. :thumbsu:

When have I said I wanted a superstar CHF. I have just said I want a good one. By a good one I mean somebody like Hentschell, Miller, Hansen, Petrie etc.

Hentschel plays more of a utility role, Miller is average and just roams up to the wings and HB line to get kicks, Hansen had a good start but struggled after about 5 games, same as Miller, roams up the ground too far and I haven't seen enough of Petrie to make an accurate judgement. H is in the same league as these guys, they are limited but solid at CHF, before he broke his jaw, H would be the pick of this bunch.
