Suburb envy is not an attractive thing! Btw, i don't live Coorparoo and never will. As a doyen of local footy knowledge you would realise that the Coorparoo Roos and the Morningside Panthers were arch enemies. As a staunch Morningside man i could never bring myself to live in Coorparoo (plus do you think teachers can afford to live in suburbs like Coorparoo). The Redlands is more of a haven for teachers.:D Oh and poms!

So you are abandoning the economic discussion then?

I read an article about Trent Hentschel's future at Adelaide being uncertain due to not playing much in 3 years but i remember at his best was very good and would probably be a better FF type then Brendan Fevola.
Would probably go for a late 3rd or early 4th rd pick.
thoughts?
What would you suggest we do with Fevola and Cornelius if we bring Hentschel in? Would it not be better to draft Darling and develop him into a FF post Fev in two years time?

If Adelaide are expecting a pick between 26 and 30 for Bock we should expect something between 35 and 40 for Rischa or Brennan. Bock is an All Australian the other 2 are not

It's hard to get a feel for Rischa's trade value.

He has proven himself a consistently good inside mid this year and will win the Best and Fairest.

Does that make him a mid to late first round?

Would Rischa + our second pick for Essendon's first be a fair deal or are we getting ripped off there?

I'd take it in a second, but are you suggesting it might be a serious option (from Essendon's point of view)?

I reckon Rischitelli is worth a pick between 10-20. He has improved his game every year through hard work and a disciplined approach. He wins his own ball but can also play other roles such as that of a tagger as well as a small forward. He is tough and leads by example, shirking no contest.

You would think that these attributes would make him a player who would present as a trade success, because there seems to be little risk in a club getting him only to wonder if he'll "fulfill his potential". We all know that Rischitelli lacks pace but he has been able to perform to a high standard regardless. He has also added more polish to his disposals this year with a greater ability to finesse the ball when spotting up targets going forward. I still think that he is on an upward trend with this aspect of his game as well.

He has currently reached a level where he will most likely win the B&F and he has polled well in this award in the past.

All of this sums up to a first-round pick, for mine, probably somewhere between 10-20, but I guess it will all depend on which clubs are interested and what picks they have. We may have to throw in another pick to get the deal done or trade a player to another club in a three-way deal, who then exchange a pick with Essendon.

This is assuming Rischa goes to a Vic club, not the Gold Coast.

Is it majorly out of whack? Thought it seemed roughly fair from my perspective.

Stocka, in the absence of a great trade I hope Rischa stays, but his long floating kicks, particularly when kicking inside 50, still kill me.

Really?

No, just think that, like us, Essendon aren't in a position to trade away first round picks.

I suppose, but it's a quality inside mid in his prime for what is essentially downgrading a pick 16 places or so.

They would have two early second round picks then which they could trade up again.

I reckon he has worked on that area this year and there has been some improvement.

With Rischitelli in terms of trade value the pick/s he get have to reflect the quality of the compromised draft. As I asked the informed in the draft thread -what was a first round mid like. Are they equivalent to late first/early second round midfielders of a normal draft.

It also depends if we get put over a barrel again. I have not much confidence from past dealings. Just hope our mob have learnt from their mistakes.

Trade week has started off with a bang already.

Out of contract- Declares he won't play at the Eagles- and finds his way to Richmond in the PSD

Basically at best we would get a second rd pick or a straight swap for him

I thought the big thing with Riska was that he had a missus from QLD and didn't want to leave hence why he has been linked with GC??? Quite happy to get rid of Brennan if he wants 2 million over 3 years.

Big difference between not wanting to up stumps and move interstate with a day's notice, and planning it over the course of a year when you've had time to wrap your head around it.

I dont think losing brennan will make a big difference, honestly hes very inconsistent and most weeks isnt great, but has that xfactor which could bring up his value.

I just highly doubt brisbane will trade for someone who has the skill of varcoe, we usually aim lower at players like leigh fisher.
