It mentions players "exploring their trade options" - the Clark being wooed by Freo rumour, as well as McGrath still being unsigned. Nothing actually confirmed, sourced or otherwise informative though. Talk of Sherman to Richmond on a three year deal, which would lean towards the Tigers' second round pick for him (or Tambling I guess).

.....Being part of the National Competition.. means we are allowed to compete and develop players....But to the media, and those living in parts of the country where AFL is the dominant sport....that's as far as it goes... Part of the privilege of competing is, that we must on-trade those players that look promising for hacks...Apparently it's some unwritten law..and goes way back to the colony days of shipping off those that failed to live up to expectations..

you said psd, last i heard tigers had a pick before the lions & if there isnt another player that we are after i believe we would take him before lions pick.

so if the lions want him, you have to trade with the bombers & sherman for houli sounds a reasonable trade.

would we be intrested in david hale hes a queensland boy and it would give us 3 good rucks again and we could rotate (clark - foward, back, ruck), (hale- foward and ruck) and berger as our main ruck. and if mitch ended up playing back most times we'd have a key ruck in ever part of the ground. not sure if that has ever been tryed yet, not sure what we would have to give up to get him on the draft and trade board most are saying 2-3rd rounder pick allso fills in that 25-30 year player weave just lost.

please no why? if fev gets kicked out brown is just going to get killed again 3 on 1. hale has kick 119 goals in 129 games witch isnt to bad good replacment till a few of our young fowards bulk up and as far as im concernd charmen is gone and wont ever play good footy again (whats this, his 3rd seaon only playing a hand full of games) and we dont want to get stuck with another year with only 1 ruck if clark or berger go down again

If fev leaves then Mitch can move to the forward line and Cornelius will also get more of a chance. Both of those two guys are much better forward prospects than Hale who has been a very ordinary forward for North the last few years. For North they have had McIntosh and Goldstein as their main rucks and Petrie also doing a bit of ruck work. With that depth Hale has played mostly up forward and has been largely ineffective.

He would be no better up forward than Charman who we already have on our books. If Clark goes to the forward line Charman would get a game. We also have McCulloch and McCauley who have talent and would be looking for a chance.

Hale is overpaid at North and he would be a list clogger with us. Our ruck division is at least as good as North's and our forward line is better. If he can't get a game for them he is unlikely to get a game for us. We are in a position now where a few of the young talls are about ready to play and we don't need to throw guys like Hale into the mix.
