Has Jack Darling been picked up by the Gold Coast?

I wouldn't mind him at North if we could use pick 16 to get him.

Is a rambunctious forward who makes his presence felt and would alleviate the Blues’ pain at losing Aaron Hamill a decade ago.

Sounds good :thumbsu:

WHats the latest with Mckinley guys there hasent been much said about him today

On a positive note, the other clubs associated with him (Bulldogs and Carlton) look to be out of the running at this stage. I think it will depend on if Dogs can move Hill to Hawks and then secure Sherman.

He will be in the draft, probably around our 17 pick.

Hed be a good get Darling was meant to be a top 3 pick but been injured/poor form for west perth. Id prefer an outside mid but hed defintly be worth a look. The hill trade is looking likely heard its just paper work and working out the final picks. Not sure about Sherman Swans seem very keen on him and arent giving up. Would this hold our deal if Sherman goes to swans and not the dogs?

Cheers HH#3, but I'm on explorer................ stuff it! I'll just read what you guys post up :)
From what I've heard mate, you're better off getting the highlights.

It's not quite the 2009 live TV telecast of the draft (worst TV ever) but it's pretty ordinary stuff. 10 minutes or less of relevant stuff for every ad and chat about the Dogs and Pies.

That and the fact that his off-field record is suspect. I believe he got caught messing around with a girl at a school camp or something dastardly.

Ok i will rehash my "what option would you prefer post" from earlier. These are what i can see as the possibilites, not considering using players as part of the deal which i hope is not the case.

1) Pick 19 from Hawks - with us swapping later picks to sweeten the deal for them.
2) Melbourne pick 12 + 32 - for Hale and 17
3)Hawks compo pick - straight swap
4) Melbourne pick 32 - Straight swap

Option 3 and 4 are probably whats on the table. Option 1 and 2 would satisfy all of us, option 3 some, and by the sounds of it, option 4 none.

Well, as people are saying, Melbourne are taking the piss and don't deserve to get players they are targetting.

My view hasn't changed - more than happy to keep Hale unless we get a good deal for him. These options don't look like a good deal to me. None of them. Yes, it might be harsh on Hale if we keep him just as a backup, but that's better value to us than the available alternatives at this stage.

If we keep him, let's hope he gets an opportunity and grabs it.

Post fail Tas. Not inflammatory enough. (And not long enough. ;))

Meh, i have covered the other options before. I don't see the difference between one long post that covers all the issues or 20 posts over 30 pages that does the same thing.

I don't get it.

Just spat my vino over the keyboard.

For what its worth I saw Darling play quite a bit last year, and from my prospective he was a man playing against boys, also he does a bit of the 'Nick' (I need a free here) stuff.

Would pass.

You wouldn't take pick 19 for Hale?
