Not true. GWS made a conscious decision to draft 3 calder cannon boys with their first 3 picks to ensure they didn't get homesick.
Victorian. But you are right, there has been a conscious effort by them to build the majority of their list from Victorian lads to try and keep them from getting homesick.

Whoops. At least I got the state right. I just had the picture of Plowman wearing his Calder polo on draft night in my head.

Jaksch is obviously the easiest target to get, and therefore probably the most realistic.

Talk of our first rounder for him is a joke however unless the other mid involved is o'rourke, greene, hoskin eliot, shiel or treloar (with the first two being the most likely)

My ideal trade period would be something along the lines of this:

Carl #25 + Garlett/#40 -> GWS Jaksch
Warnock -> Whomever #26-40
Robbo - Adelaide #~30
Garlett - WCE #32

Round 1 (#5): - Durdin/Brayshaw/LaVerde/Ahern
Adelaide 2nd Pick - Reece McKenzie
WCE 2nd Pick - Classy Mid
Warnock Pick - Industrious Mid
4/5th Round - Project Ruck

The Boyd scenario isn't as unrealistic as I first presumed.

Say he asks to leave. GWS will try and get what he's worth and not overs.

I'm not sure why Pick 5 and Casboult to GWS for Boyd wouldn't just be done? Add Garlett if necessary.

With Cameron and Patton receiving the best KPD, Casboult will be left to play resting ruck on the third tall.

I hope Kruezer has a good preseason. Gets fully fit and rearing to go.

I'd probably start him up forward however each week increasing his ruck until he gets to about 40% ruck.

Then once he's got enough form he takes over number 1 ruck.

I might be overrating Kruezer here, but no other ruckman can influence the entire game like Kruezer. Yes Natanui does his 3 second tricks. But Kruezer can sustain his good form throughout the game and drag us over the line. In 2012-13 he showcased that atleast 5-6 times. Once he gets over his injuries he'll be able to maintain consistency and perform week in week out.
