I rate Hendo incredibly highly, and wouldnt be interested in trading him, unless we got way overs. Would want Boyd, Jacksh & Shiel (which GWS wouldnt give up, and Saints couldnt satisfy in any way).
Just playing devil's avocado here but Henderson for Tomlinson and Boyd would be an interesting trade to consider...
EDIT: Hypothetically.

Not sure why everyone keeps going on about Boyd, we need big inside mids with class and a tall defender before we need a tall forward. I would rather give up pick 1 for Talia from crows. Murphy needs to be an outside mid with Gibbs so we have more options and class to deliver in to the forward line, that's why we need big inside mids. Bell needs to be the inside mid that steps up with his size, cripps will be better with another pre season.

Would anyone trade yarran to eagles for gaff? I think that's a win win.

Look Sheik, i can understand you might be keen to get Jake Stringer. Levi Casboult is of limited interest to the Dogs, at best a stopgap player. Whereas Stringer is a star in the making.
Are you seriously suggesting the Dogs would swap a star for a journeyman type? They might but maybe you would have to sweeten the deal. To sweeten that deal you would be looking at a lot of sugar on top.
More likely if Casboult was offered then swaps of picks and peripheral players may be exchanged.
I like your optimism, but thinking because the Dogs need a big fwd that they would trade away a future star smacks of desperation. I am surprised you didn't suggest Bontempelli, I mean we are desperate. ;)
Zeph, you guys are extremely desperate for a key forward, there aren't too many popping up in the marketplace which means you may have to pay a bit more than expected to get one. You went and paid huge money for Crameri who has been somewhat of a disappointment yet you are still experiencing the same issues.

The one thing you do have in abundance is decent midfielders. We need another midfielder (or three) so it would make perfect sense to structure a trade around addressing the deficiencies at both clubs, isn't that the reason clubs do trades in the first place ??

As for who would be offered up, naturally we would be starting at Stringer and working down whilst you guys would be trying to give us back Mark Austin and working up, that's called negotiating.

The other thing is, given the fact that the majority of your games this year have been lost due to not having anyone to kick it to in the forward-line would suggest to me that reluctantly parting with a decent midfielder is the one thing you have to do now.

Read my other posts on the subject and you may understand the overall rationale presented.
I've already read each of your posts regarding Stringer. Have a look and you'll see I responded to a post of yours very soon after you raised the possibility of trading for him.

You said you doubt Stringer wouldn't cost a first round pick because he isn't considered the "cream" at his club.

You then said Stringer would cost a player of the caliber of Casboult.

Yet apparently I'm the one who isn't applying any logic for having pulled you up on a completely absurd trade suggestion. The mind boggles!

I'm very confident I understand this discussion and what each of us is putting forward. I'm also equally as confident you've never seen Jake Stringer play.

I know we all love Hendo but what if we flipped him for two important pieces - ie a young KP and mid. They would need to be of a certain quality but we are in a position where a 2 for 1 deal may be better in the long term. Given their need for experience and the insane amount of talent getting around in the magoos, we might shake two very decent players out of GWS.

Assuming Garlett is gone, what trades do people think CFC should consider to supplement our small(ish)-forward stocks (if any)? I guess we have Andrew Walker as a possibility, if Mick decides he'll be used that way again. Thing is, he''ll be hitting 29 in 2015, and he's more of a mid-size type.

Would love a fast, raging, hard-tackling forward like Puopolo.

As someone else mentioned here recently, sick of seeing so many opposition sides run the ball out of our forward line with ease and with great speed.

I find it amusing to read just lowly Jeffy Garlett is rated on this board these days. After reading that Rory Sloane was happy to come to Carlton last year - I wonder how the Club wasn't able to accommodate Eddie's (apparently) modest ask in terms of money upgrade? The Thomas IN Eddie OUT outcome of the trade scenario would have looked a lot better if it was Eddie stays and Thomas was added to mix. No doubt Jeffy wouldn't have had an easier year if Eddie was still around - or is this wrong? Eddie /Jeff/Robinson were starting 22 for us - now all three are apparently gonski - very strange and very poor outcome for Carlton.

Malthouse put up with rat pack at Collingwood -encouraged them actually - but "hit man Jeffy" is too hard to manage? gimme a break- you can do better Mick...

Happy to see plodding one way runners like McLean and Warnock traded for chewing gum - very unhappy to see genuine class in Jeffy and genuine hardness in Robinson let go for same - because of one night out on the pizz.

Interesting to watch Watson kicking goals for Northern Blues (looks like a dead eye dick!!! ) - maybe Mick has been quietly creating a wild card winner on the quiet this year, like he did with Rowe last year.

Oh yeh. But I have heard Jaksch stuff elsewhere so who knows.
As much as I love Hendo, the club has to consider all offers. I think we're at the beginning of a brave new world of trading and player movement is going to be on the up. We're moving to a more commercial model and clubs need to be more sophisticated and business like in the way they approach trade week.

The clubs that are successful are going to be the ones that are active in the market and are willing to take a risk to fill holes - basically an extension of what the Hawks have been doing lately. Clubs are going to start downgrading picks etc...I'd like to see us ahead of the curve for a change.

Club receiving extensive offers for Henderson. One of which may be too good to refuse. Club and Henderson are in constant discussions.
How can we be receiving extensive offers for Henderson now when the season hasn't even finished ??

Which clubs are making these offers ??

And for the record, they'd want to be goddam extensive too, I'm talking Godfather types (an offer too good to refuse).

Once again, you know nothing.
I know you said Stringer would cost us a player like Casboult. I can quote it again for you, if you'd like.

My apologies if you have indeed seen him play, I just assumed you hadn't given the absurdity of that suggestion. I was giving you the easy out but you didn't take it so one could only assume you have no idea what you are on about.
