Thomas hasn't been playing off the half back has he?

And even if he has i'd suggest he'd move back to a wing or half forward and maybe even centre circle time once his ankle gets better and the likes of Walker/Buckley go back to half back.

My dream best 22 for next season

Buckley Jamison White
Docherty Rowe Higgins

Simpson Gibbs Yarran
Kreuzer Murphy Curnow

Thomas Henderson Menzel
Waite Boyd/Jaksch Walker

Int: Cripps Graham/Bell Judd Everitt

With no sub next year perhaps even Wood could play off the bench

Touhy, Carrazzo, Sheehan, Ellard, Watson, Holman and another round of dratees all quality depth

That team is based on the assumption that Casboult would be involved in a Boyd trade, and that Robinson, Lucas and Garlett all won't be at the club next season

You've said this that many times over the past two days following the exact same message that it has lost all meaning.
I've said words to that effect twice here .

And , if it's ok with you , i'll continue to post whatever i like about trading in a trading thread on a footy forum .

It's a good side but I reckon we would be short another 5-6 players in the depth stakes. Here's hoping there would be some quality pick-ups of the Everitt type to bolster that depth.

Maybe a Kerridge or a Lyons would be one.
Maybe garlett for say pick 30 would aid us in prying loose another.
Maybe Goldsack as FA would be an interesting prospect.

The side is also predicated on Waite staying.

Pick 5 for Mitchell & Sydney's second rd?

Jaksch for Sydney's second rd? Or ours if push comes to shove as it's higher?

Jaksch & Mitchell for essentially pick 5?

I know Mitchell is a gun and will be more so in years to come. I am happy if we gave up pick 5 for him, but I would be asking for their first round pick (19?) to come our way also instead of their 2nd round pick. Must try and keep a few picks for the first 2 rounds

Any knowledge as to what we believe to be a fair deal to get these 2 guys to us?
Well we got Doc for pick 32, we're lower in the ladder this year and Jaksch as a KPP would be worth that pick differential between our second picks. So I assume a 2nd rounder would do it.

I'd then say as posted above pick 6/7 for Mitchell and steak knives would be good for both sides.

Their first is going to Heeney. Academy bidding happens before trade period so they won't have a first. Mitchell would be our best young mid.

I do think if Mitchell is on the coin they say he is and he wants to come to us and Sydney want to free their cap, we should be asking for their first pick (19). Yes, Mitchell is worth 6 alone, but with their cap pressure, this would be a good time to ask for pick 19 to go with Mitchell.

We give up pick 6,
They give up Mitchell and pick 19.
We may have to add our pick 26 to it to get 19, but to come away from a deal like that with Mitchell, 19 and 26 still intact, it would be a very good deal for us.
Sydney would be very happy with pick 6 and cap relief.

Fair call, but pick 6 for just Mitchell, I would hope maybe we can get Membrey thrown in also.
They are the ones under cap pressure and have no choice but to let players go. We are in a good position if news is true.
Just hope that we somehow get a pick along with Mitchell in the range of 20-30.

not bad, i dont disagree, but 1 question. How do you think other players at the club would feel if we matched mitchell's current money contract (500k), do you think this would cause rifts in playing group[? just plating devils advocate here.

True, as stated above their first pick will be taken so we may wait for them to get a better set of steak knives for us...or maybe another player like Membrey.

Yep, so we should either get a two for 1 style deal out of them for our first pick, or give them our second + a decent player.

If Sydney win the flag...their second wont be until pick 40 or so once you factor in any FA compensation etc. One would expect Carlton will be doing a bit of culling from the list this season

Mitchell + Membrey + Sydneys 2nd rounder (40) = Pick 5

Mitchell = Carltons 2nd (circa 25) + Warnock (probably not enough)
