Is Jaksch being overrated a bit here? He's never impressed me that much, certainly not enough to lose pick 6/7 over.

Classic inability of people to judge 1st/2nd year KP players; what injuries they've had, have they had a pre season; do they have others ahead of them?

I still chuckle at those who kicked up a stink over getting Henderson; also those WC supporters who said Carlton dudded WC when we gave them Kennedy.

Time and time again people show they judge young KP players too harshly.

...........and not just KPP.

This time last year we were questioning what Docherty had, to bring to the table.
We only had the odd Youtube clip showing Lucas turning Docherty inside out and some decided that he was too slow,

If the recruiters liked Jaksch in his draft year then why not like him now?

And this way we get Menz & Jaksch from the 2012 draft.

Nah I actually rated Everitt. Plenty to work with and can play a variety of positions.
Orly?
Welcome officially to the club Chappy, at least you legit want to win a flag, unlike Dal Santo. As for the other scum that wanted him, Carlton... Well they ended up with Andrejs Everitt and kept Bootsma!!!!
Awesome trade period!

I feel that Jacksh will be packaged up with GWS pick 4 and sent to St.Kilda for pick 1.

Dont think we should be parting with anything more than a second rounder for Jacksh anyway. For me I'd be using our second rounder to draft a KPP like Reece McKenzie or Jack Cripps (cousin of Patrick).

I'd say there's no reason to not like him now but the original point was that he is not worth pick 6/7 and I reckon that is a logical statement. If he wasn't worth a pick that high in his draft year why would anyone consider it now?

Chapman > Everitt

But either way often I say shit to bag other clubs that I don't actually mean. Definitely thought Everitt was alright.
This is just so wrong.

Come back and see us this time next year when he's no longer playing and doesn't have a premiership with you.

I don't think there are any suggestions that we'd part with our first for Jaksch alone and that won't happen.

A package of sorts maybe, if we can't get our second rounder to do the job.

Pretty sure we'll know much more by Monday, morning so until then.........................

Too early to judge on Jaksch. If he was drafted by a top side like Hawks, Sydney, Freo or the Cats, he'd have struggled to have debuted by now. He's only 7 months older than Cameron Giles; keep that in mind when judging his progress.

That said, you'd have to question what the 15th best player (pick 12 plus Martin, Hogan and Viney) from 2 years ago is worth. With this year allegedly stacked with talls, you're paying for 2 years of development. But he's uncontracted, so that value again goes down.

Anything above Pick #26 is overs. If St K are willing to use pick 21, so be it.

Agree but this is the best pick we've had in the least compromised draft since Yarran, I just hope that we don't panic in our desire for that elusive KP we've been chasing for about 5 years.

Jones manager - hasn't played last 10 weeks, wants fresh start which we can provide. Not sure what Dogs are looking for.

It's not about the numbers as much as it is about what we understand to be getting.
What if we have him being the 8th best player if put into this draft?

Player quality aside he also represents a need.
Maybe we don't rate McKenzie, Keitel etc anywhere near as much.

If we get Jaksch and a pick #15 odd, for our #6 and believe we'll get a quality player with that pick, it may be hard to pass up on.

Oh please. Even my best friend's dad, who is a 50 year Essendon member, calls Chapman the 'five minute wonder'
Chapman has been a far better player than Everitt. To say otherwise is laughable.

I said that last year, before he'd even played a game for us.
