As I said on Monday I have shared what I have been told.

You don't have to believe me.
That's fine. But if this doesn't happen, don't be surprised if you lose credibility regarding things you hear. You can't run around saying you know exactly what he's thinking only to turn around and say that you didn't tell anyone to take it as gospel.

It doesn't work both ways is what I'm getting at.

Any chance that we could have an off season return of:

Jones, Jaksch, Durdin, McKenzie?

Land of the giants.
Recipe for disaster imo. If we get Jaksch and Jones and decide for Durdin (long term prospect) then I'd definitely rule out McKenzie. Same goes if we draft Lever... 3 is max I'd bring it at once. Go for mids in the 2nd/3rd round.
From the sounds of it, seems like 3rd?
I believe they may be forced to use their 2nd on Matthew Hammelman (Academy Pick) in which case it'd have to be a third and a player... Not sure if they're using their 2nd or 3rd though...

I'm not worried about people believing me or not. Given this is a football forum I thought I'd post what I know. But after the last few days I'm well aware that I should probably just keep it to myself. I've never ever said my info is gospel & I really don't know why anyone would assume it is.

I've never said I 'know exactly what he's thinking' - I've posted information I have been told as I thought people might appreciate it - I have no idea why anyone would think something posted on a football forum is gospel unless it is stated.

Don't worry - I'm not concerned what posters on a football forum think about me. It really has no bearing on me.

On the Suns... not sure about contract status but there's a good few lads up here that we should be targeting.

Main one I'd be hunting is Alex Sexton... a 185cm kid with speed and quality disposal by foot. Has played a handful of games but not secured in 22 by any means. Has kicked multiple goals a few times and can play anywhere from HBF to HFF.

Only sticking point is that he's a QLDer so could be tough to displace.
Like the sound of another Sexton in the navy blue jumper.

All it would take to get people off your back is insert words like 'apparently' and 'my sources tell me'.

Iv seen a few of your posts where you say it like 'He will be joining Carlton' or in this case, 'Jaksch wants someone to learn from'. Very blunt and matter of fact like its 100%. Then if the outcome is different like Jaksch goes to Saints, people will shoot you down, even if you were right at the time and Jaksch changed his mind.

Instead if you say it like 'Apparently he is very keen on Carlton at this stage according to my source' you'd be alright.

Thats if you care about it enough or not.

I think it's the way you say it (and this is by no means having a go at you). You are very absolute and final in the way you discuss these things. Often, the same point, over and over again

"Robbo's gone"
"Mitch is out"
"Won't be at the club"
"Gone"

*edit* RTF got in first, but there you got - it's not just me

Whilst I understand what you mean, using Robbo probably isn't the greatest example.

At risk of dipping my toes were they don't belong.

If you are privy to information, not otherwise in the public domain, it is perhaps best to be frugal with sharing.

If things change, and the parties never acknowledge a prior agreement, then you, despite only expressing the current state of events, look disingenuous or worse, foolish.

EDIT: Of course that is only if you care what people on the internet think :p

I wouldn't take any rumour or statement on a football forum as gospel. The people who do get good mail only keep getting it because the don't paste it all over place;). I'd be very dubious about any of the stuff written here.

That said theres no harm in people having chat about this. We are here to be entertained after all.

Agree and as with buddy last year players and there managers will increasingly start throwing out rumour to keep the real source hidden

It must be a slow news day in here today.. everyone's turning on each other!

For what it's worth, I think Jones shows enough talent for us to think like we have something to work with if we get him. Will need to break his habit of trying to mark every ball on his chest (watch his highlights video) and work on his physical presence but he could be a steal with a late pick or player exchange.

Picking up a forward who got dropped from a fwd line that is worse than ours doesn't give me much confidence.

Point of difference. He struggled at the WB as a primary target. He would be a 3rd tall at Carlton behind Cas and Henderson, and would also have the 3rd defender.

Matt Finnis on SEN - saints want 3 picks in top 20.

If they trade pick 1 for pick 3, JOR & Jaksch they'll still need to find another 2 first round picks. Hopefully they trade pick 1 for something else then.

I think we all know it can't be looked at in black and white like that.
So many factors could have been in play.. maybe the coach knew he was off at the end of the year. Maybe it wasn't actually his football ability but more so his lack of endurance or second efforts. In either case, Mick has way more runs on the board than McCartney when it comes to getting the best out of players. If we get him.. we obviously like something about him so have trust in where the club is heading. Not to mention, he's only 23 and KPF mature late and he was being used terribly at the kennel let's face it.

Agree coryne but would take time to assimilate with our team and structures/plan. Mightn't always get the 3rd defender as if he gets on a role, I could see him getting some attention. All about confidence with him - if he's not getting a mark, push up to the wing like Cas and earn it.

Reckon we'll be happy with him if we get him cheap enough.

Does it matter if it takes a while for him to gel into the side ??? We won't be pushing for #17 in 2015 anyway (please prove me wrong boys !!!!!!!!!) And if he gets onto a roll and starts getting more attention then all the better. Would love nothing more than Cas or Henderson getting the 3rd defender !!!!!!

Agree with this.

Some players look awful in a bad team. Make the change, focus off, leads to much better output.

I like this much more than jesse white and q lynch rumours we recently dealt with
