Don't mind saying I'll be furious if we settle for Jaksch and 19. That's us taking a hit just so GWS can be profligate in their dealings with Hawthorn and the WB's. Wiley(?) would be delist material for a club under pressure to trim its list...adds nothing to the deal.

Goes to show what a terrible deal we are considdering at the moment. Not happy.

I'd be angling for:

KJ, 19, 21 & Whiley

or equivalent.

Why not stretch it for a four for one?
I'm all for that. Sure, Whiley may be good, but could get him for free essentially so adds nothing to list. Problem being that they need that 2nd for Patful…

At this point…

7
for
KJ, 19, Whiley + 40

minimum I'd take - nothing else we can really throw back their way.

We need spot filled and they need to trim.

agreed. chuck in 28 for a Bugg perhaps?

Hawks had 35 players rotated in 2014 with two of those players only getting one game.

Here's Carlton's best 35 IMO...

Tuohy, Jamison, White
Simpson, Rowe, Yarran
Everitt, Gibbs, Judd
Thomas, Henderson, Walker
Ellard, Casboult, Menzel
Kreuzer, Murphy, Curnow
Carrazzo, Docherty, Bell, Buckley

Sheehan, Cripps, Graham, Robinson, McLean,
Warnock, Watson, Wood, Lucas,
Armfield, Holman, Johnson, Giles

That's literally everyone officially on our list right now except Byrne haha. Personally I don't think it looks that bad but the best 22 needs strengthening in certain positions and better depth will result. Jaksch would be an awesome get and would love to see Yarran, Buckley or Docherty move into the midfield to be that quick player with skills we're looking for. Have them running all preseason, sorry Yaz.

Don't care what the naysayers think, if we have injury luck and flick the mental weakness switch we can be right back in the finals again.

Ok.. pick 61 it is then
I think that is part of the Garlett trade according to Barret/McKay, I didn't quite catch that part of the interview.

Edit- Sorry just seen the completed trade for Garlett so we do have pick 61.

Garlett and 83 exchanged for 61 & 79.

Yazz posted a pic of him & Jeffy on instagram.

It's like he wants me to cry

Apparently Whiley doesn't have a contract. GWS haven't offered him a new one

Hmm, so we are trading #7 for a player about to be delisted?

Seriously, we need to just put 28 on the table and say 'take it or leave it.' If Jaksch is serious, he will tell the Giants to play ball and accept the trade.

Getting Griff , means there's no way GWS will be able to afford to keep all their guns next trade period.. Their young ones will be demanding more money next year so hopefully we can shake a big apple from the tree in 2015..

Especially if we can play all 35 at once.

Would love that #21 but as someone else has put forward, that may well be set aside for Patfull

Even if it's the #40, it may be O.K......................................and we let the baker bake the bread.
If GWS have already spent 21, maybe the three clubs do the trade at the same time and we get 26 from the Bulldogs.

Taking a broader look at things, if we assume we need to replace 10 players this off-season, where do we get them from?

Do we need 6 usable draft picks? Perhaps 5 with 2 trades and the rest as rookies? Are we going to upgrade a rookie or two and then load up on rookies?

I should think so. 4 picks in the draft 4 players from trades and say 4 rookies would be my guess.

SO Whiley, taken as a zone selection back in 2010, has played a whole 12 games in four seasons and is supposed to be the "steak knives" in a deal for #7 ??? Yet Garlett, who is a proven +39 goal/season player, is only worth #61 ???

Exactly why should people be excited about getting him to the club if he is a "big bodied mid" who couldn't get a game at the GWS where his "big body" could have been used to protect the younger players ??? ..........
