Is there a mod on duty here?

If so, would they care to delete the pages and pages of crap here so that fans with a spare 5-10 minutes can come and get a little actual news on "trade targets" and "trade happenings".

Or even a little order to posters to keep the crap to a minimum would be handy.

They are all on a 'coffee break' & smoko! :D

The Age saying stk chasing Boyd now too.
GWS want to wait until next year because they know every team in Vic will want him and get more than just Griffen.
Everyone is after a scoop, so it's hard to take too much out of anything coming out from journos for at least another 3 days.
Don't really care for much else other than for what happens for us.

There are mods on 'duty' here but individually we do not read every post.

We do our best but there's only so much we can do and there's a fine line between garbage and off-topic posts. We clean up a hell of a lot of garbage but we'd be neglecting the forum atmosphere if we got rid of all of the chat that inevitably occurs between posters who form relationships over a period of time.

Posters have been told countless times to stay on topic but ultimately the decision is theirs as it is their board. We don't run the board.

If you are sick of the crap the simple answer is not to read every post, or to use the forum functionality to follow particular posters who you enjoy reading.

It may be more pertinent to the Rumour thread, but I posted in the suggestions about maybe having a process where people who actually post something worthwhile use a thread-specific hashtag that people can follow at the end of their post.

Followers should get an alert when it's used? Might help sort the chaff from the gold.

EDIT: As an example, maybe #CFCTrade for this one and #CFCRumour for the rumour thread.

Our trade discussions are all over the place right now so may just start a dedicated thread for discussion.

I'll keep a running list of targets that get linked to us and update them as rumours float in.
If anyone hears something solid please feel free to say so. I'll give it due consideration and drop it into the OP thereafter.
Of course we're going to be linked to many to get a few but that's just the way it goes.

Players that have been linked to Carlton:

Confirmed Interest:
Krisitan Jaksch
Mark Whiley
Liam Jones
Jason Tutt

Behind the scenes Interest:
Tom Mitchell
Sam Reid
Tim Membrey
Ahmed Saad
Jarryd Lyons
Luke Tapscott
Sam Blease

Matt De Boer
Ben Howlett
Adam Treloar
Andrew Gaff
Ben Griffiths
Tom Campbell
Tom Boyd
Shaun Higgins
(FA)

Keep them coming and feel free to discuss possible deals.
Post one in this thread is pretty much right.

3.40pm: Bulldogs' president Peter Gordon is determined to see through the Griffen-Boyd swap - and has entered the negotiation process himself.
So Gordon is going to push aside the footballing manager and get things done himself.

As if there wasn't enough friction at The Dogs already, the President is going to show everyone how it's done. Wow!

His nickname from childhood actually was 'Bomba'. From what i recall was to do with him being right into the 'Bomba the Jungle Boy' movies. When he started playing at Essendon people started referring to him as 'Bomber' assuming it had something to do with Essendon.
Sorry, that is not true at all, my wife and her sisters went to primary school with him and she has just assured me it has always been "Bomber".
