Something smells at Richmond with players taking pay cuts and if Lynch wants to go there for unders. There must be some nice 3rd party agreements as it is unnatural to take cuts when you go to another club on overs. Does the AFL investigate Melbourne clubs anymore.

That’s how they kept Dusty from North. I think even Ricky Toot Toot explained it quite well how they structured it, where he would actually earn several hundred thousand extra by going to Richmond for less money....

The AFL know exactly what been going on for years. The real question is are these guys paying their taxes on all this extra income. If they are not, then that is the only way to bring the whole show down. You can’t give a player an apartment without them having to pay taxes on that. It’s clearly a gift that is tied to his occupation and so taxes apply. These cash in brown paper bags that was mentioned recently. What the **** is the ATO doing with that info. No way taxes are being paid on that cash.

Would love some great investigative journalist to bring this whole shit show down.

Is that like players suddenly driving Toyotas and Renaults?

Yes you can.

Just can't trade future 1st & 2nd rounder, but no problems with the current year... unless you haven't met your quota of using 1st rounders... unless you are Geelong & the rules don't apply.
Of course i was talking about future picks.

We all know there has never been a limit on what you can do in current year.

So, let's try trading 19 and our first next year for 10 and NMs second next year. North supporters have been suggesting this, for reasons I don't quite understand but seemed to make sense.

That would give us 8, 10, 11, and 37.

Let's see if GCS will trade us 2 and 16 for Jenkins, 8 and 11.

Then we'll see if St K will trade us 5 for 10 and 16.

That gives us Lukosius and Rankine, but it's taking a lot of pics to get there. You may be better off just doing the North Melbourne trade and trying to get these guys in later years.

Or just focus on McGovern and a later pick getting you Freo's selection, which you use for Rankine.

Jj has to agree, which i dont think he will. He signed a 5 year and is happy here. Most people on this board dont agree but Jj has been our best forward this year and he would be a big loss.
I guess another question is if the club think we are in the premiership window, that will also play a part. If so there is no way we trade jj but if not the trade Jj and give Fog his spot to inprove

It's a waste of time discussing JJ trading options because he isn't going anywhere.

Interested in the North trade though.

North do have an academy player (and potentially a F/S, though however unlikely) as an FYI. Could be a part of the reason for a downgrade is that they have to give it up anyway, so may as well get a first rounder for next year.

Especially to a side they probably won't consider a likely rival to a premiership (seeing I doubt they're thinking they are a likely shot in the next two years), it isn't the worst idea to have.

Yeah, I think it gives them a first next year and they still will end up with points for Thomas. If we can, it makes a lot of sense for us.

Probably fair enough about JJ. Thought I'd put it on the table, because we need to get rid of a tall if we're thinking of Lukosius, and I'd like to keep McGovern.

Your favourite topic Ruckmen.....

A very cheap option to strengthen our Ruck stocks from the VFL as I've mentioned before Lewis Pierce took another AFL listed Ruckman's scalp on the weekend Western Bulldogs Tim English 54 HO to 33HO playing for the lowly Frankston Dolphins. And on top of being a decent tap Ruckman he's very athletic and covers the ground well.

He ain't Max Gawn but reckon he's better depth than Paul Hunter anyhow.

Unfortunately, if Lukosius is on the table, McGovern is the only piece that gets him.

Jenkins doesn't have much worth purely on age/output without giving up a fair bit of draft collateral, Lynch is signed and you can't move Tex on. The only other option is Fogarty and I loathe the idea of giving up A+ SA talent.

McGovern doesn't fit at all if we get Luko in our side.

The Saints rookie? Seems a tad light but beyond that he does fit well with his path being blocked by Longer/Hickey.

Could be well worth a shot at our no.1, or at least competition with ROB for our no.1.

Reckon we would find room for Gov.

Would make a decent CHB for starters.

Are we talking about the same Lewis Pierce?

But Brown told Fox Footy’s On The Couch that the Suns had a “golden chance” this off-season to be aggressive and enhance their playing list. And that would start by challenging the clubs in the race for restricted free agent Lynch: Collingwood, Hawthorn and Adelaide.

I'm just going to assume that hasn't been proofread.

I'm sure we could, and CHB would be really the first port of call for me. I equally don't know how we get Lukosious and other SA draftees without giving him up.
