Is Pruess that good that we should go after him?
It's a bit of a question mark, much like all ruckmen. He does tick all the boxes you want in a speculative ruck recruit though. Some mobility, path blocked by a very good ruckmen and great size.

Probably fair enough about JJ. Thought I'd put it on the table, because we need to get rid of a tall if we're thinking of Lukosius, and I'd like to keep McGovern.
We needed to trade Tom Lynch as he is already so slow and will just get slower . His position is the perfect type of role for Darcy Fogarty.

A "connector" Darcy is not, I'll go on record now that he will never have the tank to come close to replicating Tom Lynch's role. I would think he'll eventually be Tex's replacement in our Forward line.

Bicks what do you think of Pruess and what is his trade value?
He's probably the best Ruck prospect not playing regular AFL football, as to his trade value that would depend on how much another club is prepared to pay and what the Roos would accept I guess. Don't think they'd let him go personally with Todd Goldstein nearing the end and an UFA end of 2019. If Sauce pulled the plug a 2nd round pick might get it done.

But Brown told Fox Footy’s On The Couch that the Suns had a “golden chance” this off-season to be aggressive and enhance their playing list. And that would start by challenging the clubs in the race for restricted free agent Lynch: Collingwood, Hawthorn and Adelaide.

I'm just going to assume that hasn't been proofread.
One too many concussions for Browny. Probably meant Richmond.

Your favourite topic Ruckmen.....

A very cheap option to strengthen our Ruck stocks from the VFL as I've mentioned before Lewis Pierce took another AFL listed Ruckman's scalp on the weekend Western Bulldogs Tim English 54 HO to 33HO playing for the lowly Frankston Dolphins. And on top of being a decent tap Ruckman he's very athletic and covers the ground well.

He ain't Max Gawn but reckon he's better depth than Paul Hunter anyhow.

I like the Lew Pierce idea. Lord know St Kilda need to move some rucks to get picks.

Draper? Or is he untouchable?

Yeah, I can see Fog playing a variety of roles, but the Tom Lynch role, absolutely not!

19 and our first next year for 10 and NMs second next year, which gives us 8, 10, 11, and 37.

Trade 11, 37 and 67 to GCS for 16, 25, 30 and 42.

Trade McGovern and 25 to Freo for 6.

Trade 6 and 10 to Carlton for 1

Trade 8 and 16 to St Kilda for 5.

That gives us Lukosius and Rankine, plus picks in the 30s.

Hmmmm. Still feels like a lot.

I'd maybe rather have 6, 8, 10 and 16 and roll the dice that Rankine is there at 6.

As much as I love sceranio's like this, I still think its Luko or Rankine, not Luko and Rankine. And for me, Rankine is the player that will fill a more immediate need and will come cheaper. Not too mentioned allow us to probably target another 1st round talent (SA or not).

Plus I genuinely believe that in 15 years time from now Rankine could well be the remembered as the most talented player from this 'Superdraft'.

Yep... Rankine fits our immediate needs and wont cost us the entire world like trying to get pick 1 off carlton would (im astounded that suggestions of mcgovern + two first rounders to carlton for pick 1 have been suggested by some!).

Get Rankine and have something left over to bolster our midfield stocks... hopefully a hately, Berry type..

If we walk away with a pinapple shoved up our arse and just lukosious to show for it because we got ****** over by carlton.. ill be ropable.

I'm mystified there is a perception Luko is not a need. He is a screaming need.

Both Jenkins and Walker are the wrong side of 25 with Walker playing injured, Lynch isn't a key forward, McGovern is injury prone and may be flight risk anyway.

We have Fogarty and Himmelberg - that's it. With our primary long term KPF players getting on, surely 3 developing tall forwards is a minimum on your list

Yep, I think we aim to go after Brisbane's pick to be safe. Work out a deal for our 1st this and next year, plus a CEY as steak knives (if the rumour's of their interest are true). For pick 4-5 that should be relatively good value for both sides. Then use Melb's and Carlton's pick to go up as high as we can and see who falls too us.

2 players in approximately the top 10-15 players including an elite SA kid who loves the Crows and whose favourite player would essentially end up being his position group mentor for 1-2 seasons....

Start the mutha flippin car!

Who moves aside for luko in our forward line next year?

Jenkins?...
Tex?
Lynch?
Mcgovern?

Which one of these highly paid blokes is going to play in the sanfl next year to allow lukosious a spot in the forward line?... we cant fit fog or himmelburg in as it is.

Best to let luko go, tell him it would cost us far too much to get the pick we will need to get him but the moment he wants to return home we’ll be willing to help make it happen.

I would love lukosious to come to the crows.. bit not if it costs a fortune, which it will, so i am willing to wait and hope he returns in a couple of years from now..

Lukosius is potentially far superior to all of those named, certainly at his age.

That may be so... but are we gonna have one of those blokes, on the money they are on, playing in the sanfl so lukosious can take their spot?... very expensive sanfl player!

If Lukosius is there at whatever pick ends up being our 1st he'll be a Crow without a single, solitary doubt unless Hamish changes his Draft mantra of taking the best available talent.

Seriously think we can get in on the Hannebery to Saints trade. I believe our pick 19 is about right for Hannebery.

Crows: Pick 5 for Picks 12 (Melb 1st) & Pick 19
Swans: Pick 19 (+cap relief)
STK: Pick 12 & Hannas

Leaves us with 5, 8 and next years 1st to work with.
Not going to cut the mustard with Sydney..Hannebury is contracted till 2021 - why would they accept pick 19. A reworking of that deal is as follows and might be a better fit

Crows: Pick 5 for Picks 12 (Melb 1st) & Pick 19
Swans: Pick 12 (+cap relief)
STK: Pick 19 & Hannas

No-one is doubting his talent. It’s the cost that people don’t want to get on board with. Sure if he was getable at a reasonable cost go and get him, but it’s all about what you perceive as reasonable.
