CEY for Francis anyone?

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/bombers-very-active-in-afl-trade-talks-20180807-p4zw19.html

"Adrian Dodoro's doing a huge amount of work on presenting to list management committee around potential availability of players that would fit the need we might look for in a trade specifically."

The Bombers have struggled to fill the void in their engine room left by the retirement of former skipper Jobe Watson.

Worsfold said Kyle Langford, Andrew McGrath and Matt Guelfi had all shown good signs running through the midfield this season but the Bombers remained open to recruiting a big-bodied on-baller.

Sydney would want out of his contract because he's cooked.

Getting 19 seems like a good deal. Gives you some fixed value for the possibility he MIGHT get back to playing some good football.
Absolutely correct, but why on earth would StKilda be in any way interested in such a stupid acquisition?

We're talking a player that MAY be procurable here, Francis is an outside chance, Fantasia is a forlorn chance.
Very true..I just read that the crows were interested in looking at maybe trying to get Fantasia recently. I am fully well aware of the Dodoro factor and Fantasia is still under contract

A "connector" Darcy is not, I'll go on record now that he will never have the tank to come close to replicating Tom Lynch's role. I would think he'll eventually be Tex's replacement in our Forward line.
Thats fair. I think we will be needing Fog to take over from Tex sooner rather than later anyway. Play him as a true CHF in the SANFL next year and give him the odd game for Tex or JJ.

But I still think we needed to trade Lynch. I don't want to under-value him as a player because I think he is fantastic. He is not anywhere near done either. I am also really glad that we managed to re-sign a non-SA player and keep him here for the remainder of his career. But take emotion out of it, he was really the player that we could have taken out of our forward line and replaced with a quicker player and given us another good draft pick. Darcy doesn't need to play AFL next year for that to be a good decision. Lynch is our connector and we function really well when he is on song. But every team knows this about the crows and the good teams have shut him down and shut us down. Its now a weakness that we take into every game that if the opposition shuts down Sloane or Lynch, then they have gone a long way to beating us.

We also have options to take Lynch's position, even if they dont play his role. McGovern, even Smith now that Milera provides that down back. When Brad Crouch comes I would like to see Sloane pushed out of the inside midfield rotations. Still love Sloane and think he can be one of our best players even with a new role.

The other thing is that Lynch may have got us another pick around end of first round. We might have been able to package that up and get Luko who replaces Lynch either in 2019, or more likely 2020.

Just like we’re desperate to get rid of Brad Crouch who has OP issues like Hannerbery?
Rubbish. Your posts get stupider by the day

Dan Hannebery to St Kilda would well and truly sum up that club. He is cooked with rumoured off-field issues but here have a 5 year deal...

As for Ellis-Yolmen, absolute best case scenario is a late 3rd rounder I'm afraid.

It's totally futile now to even be mentioning Lynch's name in a "trade targets" thread, get over it, he's a Crows player now and in all likelihood will be until he hangs up the boots. You need to start keeping your eye on the road ahead and stop looking in the rear view mirror.

I would take Wingard and instantly put him HFF
And tell him to stop playing for free kicks, and to stop whinging, and to stop playing with his hair, and to stop checking himself out on the big screen, and to get his tattoos removed, and then he might be a footballer.

So he wouldn't accept our terms. ;)

I recieved good inside knowledge that the WC have put a 3yr 1.5 mil offer to Tim kelly very recently. Hes looking to return to WA. This means Gaff is a certainty to leave. Also means eagles will have nothing left to trade if they were to go after M Mcgovern. Leaves the AFC with only freo to play with in regards to mcgovern. Maybe also this drives his price down. We are better placed trying to hold him to contract i believe. Also heard WC will try to go for bolton from richmond with gaff compensation and a return pick from richmond. Then luke english late second or third round pick. The eagles will do very well out of this scenario i believe. maybe time for the afc to be as brave.

Incorrect. You heard this on the radio on the weekend, as did I. Its a contingency if Gaff leaves.

Won't Nick Blakey end up costing them their first pick anyway ?? Surely other clubs will read his name out early in the piece on draft night ??
