Ken said last night that Ryder is a required player .. he is not going anywhere.
My hope is that those decisions are not in his hands whatsoever.

I have no idea about his desire to return to WA but does Ryder think his position at Freo behind Darcy would be any different to his position at Port?
1. Darcy is younger than Lycett and likely more prone to indifferent form
2. His position at Port next year should be so long thanks mate we’ll be in touch
3. I have no idea what Ryder thinks

Along with Cripps and Davies, Ken is one of three people responsible for list management. So as long as Cripps or Davies agree with Ken, Ryder stays.

I'd be livid if we traded SPP. He's doing the right things off field now and it shouldn't be hard to get him to the next level on field. To get rid of him would just reinforce the idea that we suck at developing players.
Err, we do suck at it. He has gone backwards. He just got dropped and the team performed better without his fend offs ending up HTB.

Im in the let ryder walk camp....
Id rather see ladhams, frampton, marshall and eventually hayes getting more game time. his best is past him and should get better offers else where.

ill be pissed if either marshall or frampton leave at the end of the year. not pissed at them but at the way we have treated them.
Ryder took PEDs and then wouldn't take the deal. Screwing us over. He won't be remembered at the club for any meaningful contribution beyond

Goodbye

Crazy that we would've let that whole nightclub saga end his time at the Club. Not surprised though that Koch, Ken and co. might have felt like he wasn't making the community proud, because that's what's most important after all.

Really though, trading a second year player with all that potential would have been really ****ing negligent and would have upset me more than Wingard or Polec.
Depends what we get for him

I reckon any talk of fearing Ken being involved in list management is chicken little stuff.
We’ve just come off a year where we walked out a dual all Australian 25yo and a first 22 wingman in Polec plus all the other collateral. It says to me decisions are being made with a broader approach than selfish coach for today crap - which I don’t think Ken does.

And is going to say?

He's very much a required player on our terms.

Thats the absolute truth.

As it should be. If we see value offer a deal based on that, but hold your ground and don’t be afraid to let him talk elsewhere if it means a trade.

Bit of talk both the Hills want to leave Freo, Stephen to Gold Coast, Brad back to Hawthorn.

Not saying there is anything to WA clubs chasing WA born player rumours but they will be in the marketplace.

Would very very much like B Hill if possible. Would probably cost us SPP or similar value but i’d be ok with paying that.
Yep brad is a much better player then i gave him credit for but won't happen and i wouldn't trade spp anyway.

Don’t know why we would be interested in Hately if we wanted him that badly we would’ve taken him over butters plus do we really need another inside midfielder? Even for the future SPP, Atley and Drew looks pretty promising to me

Yep, it was Brad Hills' brilliance in the 2014 PF that cost us a GF appearance... as well as our first quarter goal kicking ... and yeah the umps of course.

Ryder wont go anywhere unless he absolutely has to, and i dont think he has to, the more interesting point is do we trade SPP or keep him, his upside is he's a big bull that gets the ball, and his downside is he will most probably never improve his kicking above what it already is. My point is how much do we rate Drew & Atley because in reality SPP is taking their spot in the team, Do we rather have Wines, Drew & Atley with their superior disposal as the inside mids or do we keep spp and most probably lose one of drew or atley to an interstate team. Right at the moment woudl be the best time to trade SPP if that is what we want to do, he has good currency and we could use his pick to draft in a midfielder with real speed as well as possibly target a free agent as well with the spare cash?
