Jack Gunston apparently wants to come back to Vic? 193cms KPP but not sure he's that pack crashing type that we crave...
If he's listed at 193cm I don't believe him. Anyway I think we've got enough of his type in Jurrah, Howe and Petterd. (not to mention Green, Bate, Dunn).

Id look at rookieing him if there's space. Midfielder who was GCs captain and b&f at 19 in the VFL and fell out of favour this year. Not sure why as he was really good for them in thier VFL year...
Talk on the GC board was it was his attitude. Not so much lazy or anything but wanting to play the game his way and not part of the structures. Possibly being delisted might make him want to reassess that attitude. I'm not so sure he's any good though.

How about a small forward FFS?! In my opinion, the areas we need to bolster are additions to the midfield, and one or two small forwards. If we go into next season without a genuine small forward it will be hugely frustrating, and I don't think it is going to be Aussie. He's too slow. Same goes for Maric.

Maric is pretty quick and has fantastic foot skills. Needs a big preseason and then an extended run. Constantly gets dropped when the team loses even if he's in the best.

You're spot on with Maric and it amazes me the way the pattern is repeated so often. He gets selected, plays a good game (win or loss), gets selected again, we get belted, and he gets dropped, regardless of his form!

He needs to learn not to fade in and out of games, that can't be argued with. But he will only learn that by having some faith shown in him and being given an extended run at AFL level, in which he only gets dropped if he is actually in the worst 6 players on the ground.

Name one decent one that may be available?

Haven't seen much of Gunston but if he really is no chance of getting more size- if he is another medium sizer than no go.

I still think Lock is worth looking at liked him in the VFL last year, but certainly no cert to make it.

jack gunston has left the crows - didn't even attend the best and fairest event.

he has all the hallmarks of a kpp about him. he's very strong in the air, but is very skinny after 2 years in the system, which is a bit of a concern. his second efforts at ground level are very encouraging. the only thing butcher has on him at this stage is about 4cm, and as much as butcher has kicked accurately in the afl, i'd be much more comfortable with the ball in gunston's hands aiming for goal after the siren.

would happily swap a 2nd round pick for him but the crows would be perfectly justified in feeling ripped off in that scenario.

he's going to be a very, very good player i think.

Jack Gunston lived across the road from me before he was drafted by Adelaide, I know him and his family well. The kid has silky skills but is the quiet / shy type. While I think he will be a fantastic pickup for whoever he goes to, we do have a lot of forwards already of his size, and what we really lack is a hard pack crasher which I'm not sure Jack is. Besides, how many Jack's can we have playing at our club??

yeah, don't disagree with you, but you can never have enough quality players. we certainly know melbourne doesn't!

and i think this jack is going to be a quality player. so if we could get him for a second round draft pick in this compromised draft i'd be ecstatic.

We really do need a tall marking prospect inside 50 though. Watching Sam Reid go about it is painful. Can't wait for Cook to come on but having Fevola there now would be a good option.

No need for Jack Gunston.

Petterd, Howe, Dunn, Green, Bate are all at the club. Won't include Jurrah there due to x-factor.

I'm up for Fev. Good interview on FS on thursday

Long, strong legs and long, strong arms. That's what we need in a KPF.

Sam Reid may just be my new favourite player.

keep maric. (although I have a grudge against the bloke for ignoring me out the front of the MCG when I said hello. prick. lol!)

umm gtfo. if we cant trade him we should delist him asap. guy is a handicap, has very little goal sense, poor disposal, poor decision maker and his forward pressure isnt that great either. delist asap.

Idiot post is idiot.

If Toy wants to come back to Melbourne I wouldn't mind having a big go at getting him.

If $cully goes, maybe one of the compo's picks for Toy? If he stays then maybe Morton and our 2nd round selection or even P12 with maybe Barts as a kicker if required.

If Scully goes, we need a player that's like him. As far as I can see the only young players similar are Gaff, Swallow and O'Meara. Maybe Polec and Atley. Should target either Gaff or O'Meara. Both compo picks in.
