Clem Smith , Eagles want as a rookie so need to wait five weeks for Smith but as a former top junior he is worth a go !!
He'll choose Perth over the Eagles.

And the bold section is the flawed logic that saw us recruit JON, Lucas and Morton. Smith isn't good enough and it is a waste of a rookie spot.

What happened to the Marcus Adams to us rumours? If we picked him up to cover the possible loss of Mackenzie and Brown I think we'd win out of it.
Hamling chose Freo, Dogs told Adams he is a required player.

Adams is happy to play out the contract, will look at him end of 2017...unless his foot stays ******.

Why the hell would anyone in their right mind play for Perth? Have to be some sort of masochist. :p

Was listening to trade radio, only reference to Marsh was that he'd LEFT the pies.

Has he quit and we'll pick him up at PSD?
Or is there still a trade to do. Worth it for a late pick IMO.
Got some mental health issues apparently and if not traded/drafted may just retire completely.

He showed good signs in his first year, but hasn't carried on with it. Wasn't he struggling to get a game with the Tiges? Given how they went last year that's a pretty big red flag.
Player development under Hardwick has been abysmal. They have a handful of very good players at the top then the drop off is huge. Kids not coming on, and players like Lennon who should be taking the next step. Also seemed to be a bit of picking the same old players to play there after the problems got papered over with in that '15 winning run.

He also is quoted as saying Conca is his mentor, I would have thought there were a couple of other players you'd consider before him but that said I don't know the guy at all.

With Brown gone he could provide backline back up - if we can rookie him, not sure he is worth a main list spot.

Fair enough, wouldn't say it was aggressive recruiting tho.trading our emac would have been aggressive or somehow getting jom to come home ..

Maybe they did their due diligence and decided jom's knees were stuffed? With the number of knee issues he has had it would not surprise me if barely plays another game at AFL level.

Vardy, 38 and 56 for 34 and 54?

Puts his value at ~pick 64 and importantly leaves us with a pick in the 70s to maybe have a crack at Ryan, assuming Waterman is taken with pick 56.
There's some merit in that since I'm not sure if they'll use 72 anyway

I reckon the exchange of 34 for 38 could be enough on its own without the swap of 3rd rounders as well

This is interesting. Didn't Giles win the goal kicker award for EP as a ruckman?
He did, somehow, but I don't think they see Lycett and Giles as a good tandem - which is probably fair on exposed form.

So Vardy it is...who will probably be more likely to keep Nic company in the rehab room than anything else but oh well..

It's a huge risk no doubt. They are also putting all their eggs into Tom's basket. If he doesn't match the output of Mitchell or Lewis then they might struggle. Lets not forget Tom was part of a dominant midfield, he might actually get exposed if he is expected to be their 1st or 2nd mid.
