1 million over two years apparently.
Thought I read somewhere it was $1.2m. Tigers I think had an offer of $1m over 2 years on the table. Could be wrong. But I remember thinking Geez I wish I came from some tall, spudly stock, because fairly sure I could've spudded it up, sucker punched a bloke and generally been a shit, annoying campaigner for that sort of coin.

hawks getting 3 big fish, no arm wrestle going on to make it tougher for them,
adelaide making an overnight power move by convincing a contracted bryce gibbs to go home,
meanwhile we're doing fkucing medicals with drew petrie.

makes me sick
Second ruck is one of the most important positions on the ground.

I can see why we are prioritising this

Gibbs would be a very good pick up for the Crows. Not sure how they fit him in their salary cap though after giving big contracts to Josh Jenkins and Brad Crouch

He approached the club saying he wanted to come home.

How does a spud like that command $500k pa? Sport has lost touch with the real world wages.
No issue with Dangerfield or Ablett or etc earning top dollars, they win games, bring in supporters and bring in sponsorship dollars. But Vickery?

Second? Third is where it's all at mate. Look at Giles and how important he proved to be. No need to rush these things when we're looking at trading for the cornerstone of our list.

Collingwood said to be offering Wells $600k for 2-3 years and Mayne $500k for 4 years

That's approaching 10% of their salary cap for 2017 and 2018 for a player who will be 32 before the start of next season with known durability issues and a 28 year old medium sized forward who averaged less than a goal per game last season

Both free agents admittedly but good way to burn cap space

3rd ruck behind Lycett & Giles. Someone who should be a Plan C (playing Lycett/Giles solo should be plan B).

I think we're over-playing the importance of finding another ruck.

Back end it perhaps?

I'm fairly clueless on contracts in the AFL, could they potentially renegotiate a few of their others to spread them out or back end them to fit him in?

Vickery is a crab, not a fish

Hawthorn still have to come up with trades for Mitchell and O'meara so neither of those are over the line by any means

And they're losing Hill and possibly one or two other players to meet the above trades

Yeah, Collingwood doing some dubious shit this yeah.

I love it.

That's a a lot of coin to be paying for a guy that will struggle to play 50℅ of those games over the three years.

And Mayne on $500k. [emoji23] [emoji23]

Not sure if it would fly with other players to renegotiate their contracts but who knows? You do hear about players taking pay cuts to get big names across. Interesting to see Gibbs hanging out with Crows players over the weekend for Sloane's wedding. Wonder how long it's been in the works
