I will not be supporting the Eagles in 2017 if this trade happens. Words cannot describe how much I hate this man. I will take a year off and follow EP for the year.

The only reason Hawthorn are considering trading Mitchell is salary cap relief so there won't be any players involved

The JOM and Titchell deals will be happening independently of anything to do with Sam Mitchell

It'll be draft pick(s) and not high ones - Hawthorn aren't going to suggest to Mitchell that he leave then **** up the trade by asking for too much

Hmmmm ok, seems rather irrational but good luck and see you in 2018.

I'm not a fan of the idea. I don't think we're in or window any longer due to being that far behind the Bulldogs and GWS. Eating Mitchell in would reduce the minutes of Duggan, Sheed and co

The fact we are going to bail out the Hawks is disgusting. We take an old slow $#^^ with no defensive side to his game for 500k a year so they have the ability to pick Jager and Titch.

Simmo is really getting bent over by his Master on this one.

Wake up people.

As some have suggested give Mitchell more minutes over Priddis. He is a far better leader and mentor on field to the younger blokes.

I haven't ready all through this but having a skim through this morning we seem to have a few posters who can't see past their nose. Need to take a step back and have a look at the bigger picture of what's actually going on here to realise just how big this is.

I still rate Mitchell as one of the best players in the game but the effect he's going to have on the younger players coming through is huge. At the end of 2007 the bottom fell out of our midfield and ever since we've just been throwing young players in there with not much devemipement or success. We could try go out and sell the farm for a young "potential" gun mid but we would just be throwing them into the leadership void that is our midfield. Then watch them waste away as a could have been. Simpson has continually said we have some good young kids coming through but they lack that onfield guidence to reinforce what's getting coached into them during the week.

Also impressed by the amount of class shown by both clubs

If he gets past our second we use our third on him. Just has to get to mid 30s which is apparently very realistic.
I thought if no one bids for him and he's a listed father son we can take him with our last pick whatever that is.
Knightmare has him as a third or fourth round pick, if so third round pick is worst case.

So big question is if we are left with 12 and 33 after the trades are done (assuming waterman for 3rd), who do you think we should get that will be available at those picks?
