Of all the ruckmen mentioned Goodwin is the most intriguing.I havnt seen him play but hes the only one mentioned who actuallly seems to have some upside. His coach has extolled his attitude and stated he has stepped up every time hes been asked to improve in areas.Tough!! has been bandied around whenever hes mentioned. Can he take the next step to AFL? nobody around him has said no!Why settle for another hasbeen/neverwas.If hes that tough then youve already got something to work with; and god knows we need tough!!!!
Agree with this.

Sounds like someone who will fight to earn a spot and give it everything. If nothing rise East Perth would welcome him as a Paul Johnson replacement

Still paying $4, if you certain put your house on it Freagle boy
I would but that'd leave me with the mind****ing proposition of wanting Freo to do well.

My head would explode

Years ago I put $50 on the Eagles to win a game (and I very rarely bet) and that was a weird enough experience..

If Freo don't make the 8 next year they've underachieved and hopefully then they'll get called out for blatantly tanking 2016.

As a club they sat the season out like McCarthy did. Completely gave up and played for a WAFL flag instead

Terry Wallace was pretty scathing on their 2016 performance, said it was one of the biggest falls ever and he couldn't believe how little attention was given to it (due to no real story of a coach being under pressure, journalists didn't have anyone to point the finger at).

For all their tanking and some good trading they still aren't in THAT great a position, relying a lot on mentally fragile players like McCarthy and Bennell to step up as well as plenty of downhill skiers.

If Fyfe isn't back to his best they're gone.

So we have picks:

12 - Best available mid.

34 - Best available

52 - Use on Waterman. Hope no one bids

70 - Mitchell. They will want our pick 34 as a starting point.

88 - Use on Vardy? Out of contract so worth nothing really.

If we can keep our first two picks and maybe get another early second rounder we should be able to draft some good players.

I don't see the Vardy possibility as a one year stop gap thing. Petrie is seen as that and rightfully so but Vardy is somewhat different as he can play forward and play it well. His fitness is my concern more than anything. If he can stay sound and play regular footy I see big upside for our team with Vardy whether NN is there or not.

This x 2.

If he could stay fit he would be very good value as a forward that can ruck.

Will that be after you wash Hagdorns car with a toothbrush?

No

I did very nearly ring 6PR though to tell him to stop making shit up

Thank **** I had a moment of ochre like indifference and didn't bother

So realistically, do Freo have enough currency left to get Hamling & Kersten?! Will pick 35 & 43 get it done?

More so just trying to factor in what picks they will end up with to put a possible bid in on Waterman.

Nah.

I want us to keep 12. I'd be open to our second rounder plus a player for Rockliff.

Rockliff is a seriously good player, no guarantee what you will get with pick 12. You don't think it would be worth it if the club seriously thinks they are trying to win a flag now?

Doubt we'd have a decent player to pony up for fatboy.

Mackenzie + our 2nd is unders for him, but i can't imagine the club trading away yet another first rounder.
